    Hello fellow skyblockers,

I come with a proposal to increase the hopper limit from 96 to lets say 128 for an example. It would be helpful for mapartists or anyone who uses an item sorter to organize all their items quickly. The issue with the current limit at 96 is that it doesn't maximize the efficiency and value of item sorters. For mapartists like myself, holding down shift and right clicking into each chest can take some time depending on the map worked on. I built an item sorter on my mapart island and it has reduced the time of clearing carpets from 10-15 minutes down to 5 minutes (this was not timed, but an estimate. Will work on getting more accurate times later).

While the hopper limit was imposed a few years ago to address lag, I think the lag overall (while still needs to be ironed out) is better than what it was couple years ago, and I think we can raise the hopper limit to accommodate more hoppers.

When it comes to the new limit, I used 128 as an example because its an even 2 stacks, but of course it can be lower or higher depending on what the developers find reasonable.

Open to further improvements on this suggestion. Ill incorporate it into my original suggestion :)

I'd support this, or a trail run even. There are alternatives such as using minecarthopper sorters. Which are a lot faster. And use less hoppers themselves. But idk how they'd work given the latest hopper changes. I'd say it's worth a go

Rather than potentially slow the server down with item sorters, why not use a mod like Stack to Nearby Chests? It's what I use to put my carpets away and it's fantastically fast.

Took a look at the mod and I do like it, but in the end you still have to manually sort your items. Sure, its faster since you are stacking more than 64, but you still have to organize your items (in this case carpets by color).

I'm mildly horrified by the implication that you don't keep your carpets organised by colour in the first place

I actually do. My point was prior to building my item sorter I would have to manually organize all my colors. I don't dump all of them in my chests just like that.

I think this would be highly beneficial for players who like to create maparts and who are terrible at organising items (like me). Sure it might increase lag a bit, but it shouldn’t be too bad seeing as not every player has hoppers on their island. Alongside this, it can increase casino games on islands too which can increase a players net worth and personal income. I’m hoping that the wonderful moderators shall have a discussion about this and hopefully make it happen! :)

I personally don't think it would cause much lag or any lag. hoppers were nerfed initially because there were players that would build massive afk farms and had unnecessarily large item sorters that involved a lot of redstone, causing the server to experience a lot of performance issues.

While we are far from that, i think we can increase the hopper limit to allow mapart islands to have more hoppers to better sort and efficiently place carpets in chests.

I think we're at a point we can slowly increase the hopper limit, it doesn't have to be 128, but ofc the final numbers is up to the developers :)
