Hi all, Sometimes people like to type certain things in capital letters to better translate vocal inflections into text speech for the purposes of communicating a point or emotion. As of now, the chat filter automatically lowercases anything with more than a couple capital letters, which can be rather annoying. I realize that such a feature is important for preventing chat from becoming full of ADVERTISEMENTS THAT LOOK LIKE THIS, but I would like to be able to capitalize a few words per sentence LIKE THIS for example without being auto-lowercased. Is this a reasonable and implementable request? TLDR: Raise the capital letters limit per word to like 10 or something; right now it seems like three or more consecutively will trigger the chat filter to lowercase everything. Thanks! GAMER1232012
There are already ways to talk in all caps, however if they changed it to allow for all caps then it would flood the chat with people shouting lol. I think you.can type a few words in all caps to a certain limit
Would you mind elaborating? I tried typing four capital letters next to each other and the rest of the sentence lowercase and it got shrunk
Strong no-support. As much as it would be fun to be able to shout in chat occasionally (Such as RUWI! SHULKERS RUWI! RUWI! SHULKERRRRRS!) I am positive it would be constantly abused rather than used by players in any sort of calm or rational manner.
I actually had a question regarding this. I always thought that spam was more of a frequency of messages one after the other type deal. Is there really a difference between having one message sent in lowercase versus one message sent in all caps? It still takes up a single line of space on the screen regardless, no?
maybe, could be made a donor only feature so random people dont start joining and abusing caps and people with ranks wouldnt risk spamming chat over and over when it could lead to a mute/ban
Spam doesn’t necessarily have to be multiple messages. Yes it usually is mostly seen in these cases of multiple messages, but can be really anything that can be classified as disruptive, “unproductive”, or just “unnecessary”. Then again, it is can always be perceived as different things depending on the viewer.
