If they remove gambling, what're we supposed to do. There's no mob arena anymore, there will be nothing fun left, Good job on the 18+ mapart removal tho. I just dont see why the gambling ones are bad, and staff hinting at maybe ending gambling in skyblock forever, there needs to be something fun put in place after, like dungeons or something.
Gambling itself will never be banned as long as there are gamble crate keys being sold on the website.
People could just find something else to do. Like build, farm blocks, make a shop. You dont have to gamble. Find a different, more productive addiction.
I created a ticket asking specifically for this, since I sell a mapart banner with the word Casino and I was told and it was fine, for now.
do we get anything in return for 'handing' in the maparts? if not, why cant we just void them? seems like extra hassle to be doing this for free considering some of us paid significant amount of g for the mapart to just get confiscated out of the blue.
Just a hunch, but I think they're getting inappropriate maparts handed in so they can log the ID and have the art erased.
i kinda like this, the inappropriate maparts were a good change, hope this will go smoothly, this is the first time rules have been put out in a while.
can we have like an option to clear map arts to turn them into regular maps because it's a waste of material otherwise :/
this is so smart omg, i have too many copies of one mapart that someone randomly dumped on me one day and i would have 1 stack of empty maps immediately
no this isn't about your maps this is about the 28 panel map art i got given for free that breaks at least a few of the map art rules
It doesnt say Gambling or Casinos are going to be removed anywhere on the new rules, it says only MAPARTS that have the word " Gambling, Gamble or a similar word " are going to be not allowed (this does not include the word Casino or similar words to Casino, but if ur confused if a word is banned you should ask a staff member)
They turned down the “please gamble responsibly” mapart because of the word gamble. I put it on a sign instead, no rules about that yet xD
"Please gamble responsibly" still encourages gambling, albeit, responsibly. Punishing people for discouraging gambling would not be a good look for the server. I can see this becoming a bit tricky. It might be simpler to just push on with new anti-gambling rules. With regards to players handing in map art to staff, you could also enforce upon the creators, that they take the originals back to where they were created which would wipe ALL copies at once and save staff some of the effort. It would also prevent players from keeping them in secret on locked islands. In fact the creators could overwrite them with new, appropriate map arts so that those who bought them won't loose out entirely and any copies they have won't be wasted either. That should suit those who are worried about loosing the investment they put into the blank maps. Any map arts that aren't wiped by the creators and are handed in instead, staff could themselves, take them to the creators island to wipe them. Assuming the buyer recalls who they got them from. If that appeals to the creators, they could get started on it now. Perhaps create a quick map art that reads, "This map art will be overwritten in time!" Then apply that to all of your inappropriate map arts. You will need to manage the blanks though as you might want to replace 4x4's with 4x4's etc. You could take screen shots of the map arts, and add the map id numbers to the individual panels. I suggest that overwriting just the rude bits with "CENSORED" is not sufficient. Those empty maps would all have the same ID so they will always be the same image.
