Economy AFK is a problem....lets fix it easily

    My idea is quite simple. It doesn't need a plugin and doesn't change the way people have learned to play on the server.

    The problem: Loads of people staying online all the time for passive income. Not many other options for other income so it's understandable but server performance is really bad and better servers are expensive for sure so...

    Why not have a function that will reduce the payout of crops growing and being sold by croppers over time? Below is an example of how it could work

    - First 4 hours of player being online - 100% income (40k per tax period)
    - Every hour after that - minus 20% income (32k ptp)
    - Until a baseline of maybe 20% of the original income (8k ptp) for all tax periods after that or just keep going until no income (probably won't be received well with the community lol but can force them to log off)

    If you know the average time people spend AFK until they come back, you'd probably want to set the above example to last a bit less than that time for example the sequence above would take 9 hours from start to finish for a player to then feel like it's not worth it anymore, the sequence would have to be a trial and error type thing.

    - Now players could bypass this by having some kind of script/autoclicker to disconnect after 4 hours and then join again, this is where a cooldown for profits to increase back to 100% would be required, say 8 hours cooldown (overnight) so the next day someone can log in at their usual time and the cooldown would have passed, they are back to making their full income, and so on.

    People have a lot of ideas about how to solve the issue of lots of AFK players, some really drastic and would require more work or a reset/change to the way the server works. My suggestion is not as invasive and would be much more straightforward with some code.

    Putting the idea in chat in-game, the handful of players that were chatting, found it interesting, even if it was introduced for a week just to see if any changes happened.

    Eco is already having problems with lag, resulting in less money earned. Penalizing people's income for being online for a long time is definitely not the way to fix this.

    Neutral on the basis that I don’t support your idea about a slow reduction in crop sale value, but I would find it nice if they introduced new ways of playing, new, more active ways of making money… like what happened to /jobs? Things like that would be cool.

    I think you've answered your own suggestion here..

    Economy already has had restrictions on how we can earn a profit. Players have taken to afking more because its harder to earn income. Profit shops are next to extinct now croppers auto sell, the only way we can earn money, is from being afk at the crop hoppers for them to work. Thats the main reason people afk. Reducing cropper income just for being afk seems counterintuitive, taking even more of our earnings away from us. Having 20 minut taxes all day long taking 30% of our profits for no valid reason is bad enough already. Taking away cross server vote rewards has meant that a LOT of players that could once sell their sb grass and keys for eco money haven't been able to earn the way anymore. Crop hoppers autoselling, only when the owner is online has taken away profit shops from those with smaller non cropper farms that they also need to afl for them to work.

    The very fact that economy is run from farm profits, is the reason players need to afl at all.
    Give us better ways to earn money, and I might support this suggestion. Otherwise all it would do is make incomes much harder to earn


    Say you earn 10k in 20 mins, 30% gers voided already due to pointless tax.

    Then your suggestion removes q further 20%, ( which then would also get 30% taxed). We're now down to 5k.

    Another hour passes, 20% reduction, 30% taxed.

    We're down to like 2k profit earnings.

    Thats exactly why this wouldn't work well.

    Good suggestion, just not practical ❤✨

    I think a complicated reduction of money earned for crop hopper farms will only make things worse. Players will have to set up bots to rejoin like you've stated, and now they'll actually have to stay online even longer to make the same amount as they would have before it got nerfed.

    I think the clear solution here is a more powerful server host.

    Ok forgot to mention dont need the tax then, if you have one penalty type thing you dont need another otherwise yeah it becomes unfair. I just said its an easier thing to try rather than a more powerful server host (yes that's the easiest solution anyway but why hasn't it happened yet?) I only joined recently but in-game people are saying its been laggy forever so I guess these suggestions are a lost cause anyway
