ive been told this by like 2 OTHER ppl atp as well as tested it for myself, I think its related somehow to the glitch where anyone could use mangrove pressure plates but i dont know EDITED
I can confirm. I'm one of those people that told him! I made a new mob area and wanted different doors on the houses. I put timers on all the doors but 1st I have to [private] then [everyone], but when you place the sign it say "no protectable block nearby" or something to that effect.
