Today I am suggesting that we replace disguises in the crates
for redeemable vouchers which can be used by players to get
the disguise that the voucher is for.

How is this useful? We all know way too well that disguises are
one of the most commonly won perks in the crates. The implementation
of redeemable vouchers would allow players who already have disguises
that they have won out of the crates in the past, to create a shop with
these vouchers to sell them to players who might be interested in
getting a disguise for themself.​

 

I support a suggestion that looks in to reworking disguises in crates, I think its required. I don't feel like this is the answer, but hey, the more suggestions about crate reworks the better.

 

I agree with Leo, this doesn't feel like the answer. But there certainly shouldn't be disguises in crates.

 

This certainly would make sense, and would be a pretty nice change to crates. Making the disguises redeemable versus sellable would make it so when you get multiple you don't outright make no profit. Unfortunately, the big issue I currently see with this is current nature of crates in general. The only one really profitable without a lot of luck is voter crates, which are barely profitable and take a lot of time to open.

While of course crates are supposed to be a sort of gambling, it's hard to want to buy any legendary keys when the chance of an item being worth more than the cost of the key is under or around 10%. Your idea may help solve the problem to some degree, but unfortunately I think the crates just need to be changed as a whole, at least to some degree.

 

No support on the vouchers but yes change crates, like everything else I've been saying this for years.

I've worked with multiple crate plugins, and it is beyond easy to make a reward a one-time win with multiple plugins. The problem is the plugin is 1.12 and probably has little to no customization because of how old it is, that or they just refuse to update something that sucks. You can literally go download a free crate plugin from Spigot, setup your rewards, and make it a one-time reward so people don't keep winning it. After seeing some other plugins similar myself, it's also even more frustrating to see how poorly they're setup with the rewards and chances.

So either the plugin is so old it's not even customizable with one-time rewards, or it is and they just refuse to make them any better.

Crew decides what rewards people get from crates & other things. I suggested a crate reward rework a while ago.

practically scamming people of their money if you think about it. lets say you buy 4 leg keys and spin it just to get a guardian disguise twice of those 4 times.

 

If crew wants that it would be possible of course however it doesn't really make much sense to completely block them. Pretty much every game out there that has lootboxes allows duplicate rewards, in case you get such a duplicate you usually receive a certain amount of currency instead (based on the rarity).

Don't see how that makes it a scam tbh, you could also receive 4x the most valuable reward in theory and there is no system in place that "forces" duplicate rewards.

 

Opening keys is a sort of gambling. (Literally, look at the casino like slot machine animation) When you gamble you can win big, but you can also lose.

 

But Skyblock doesn’t condone gambling!
Perhaps they should reword the the shop ad to state “Not guarantee you will win ANYTHING.”

 

If I had read before I posted my stop ripping people off with chests thread, I wouldn't have duplicated the issue. Actually, If I had read it before I bought the legendary keys I wouldn't have bought them, lol.

This. There have been other ignored suggestions about crates that have offered this solution. Moving cosmetics to their own crate is a great idea and also makes for a simple giveaway prize for things like challenges and vote rewards.

It’s rare to find a loot crate in any game where you can win zero value for real money. Like Dex says most give duplicate rewards, like a tiny amount of currency.

I hope a rework is implemented, it’s really a win win for everyone who buys keys and the server for adding a new key to sell and removing a block that’s stopping key sales for many of us who won’t buy anymore because of duplicate disguises.

 

After talking to crew we decided that we'll change it so you can't win the same disguise/trail twice on 1.19.x for now, will decline this since vouchers won't be added.
