Support. This was promised over a year ago. Since then there has been nothing more said on it, no updates, no reason given for the delay. It’s been asked about often and still no info comes. Drogo isn’t saying there isn’t a good reason, just that we’d like to be informed. Many players were excited when the update was announced and they all had an expectation that this would happen. Players keep putting money into the server and Drogo feels that they are owed some sort of explanation or expected timeframe for the update. It shouldn’t be but if it’s the reason for not updating…….. If an update brings us more under the watchful eye of Mojang then Drogo welcomes that, but it might cause issue we don’t know about. Players can receive universal bans for cheating and with many hacks permitted on Skyblock, is Mojang able to tell whether we’re cheating by Skyblock standards or not? Could we see half the server banned if it updates??
No, but the player reporting system only covers very specific circumstances that are pretty much already against the rules of this server anyways. Unless the FAQ is lying to me, I don't think "cheating" is covered by the player reporting system. FAQ | Reporting System Regarding the suggestion, I agree with Drogo - I feel like a status update on whether or not the server is going to update is warranted, even if the answer is "we decided to stick with 1.12.2"
Why is it we have to nag and beg continuously for status updates when they should be standard? What’s the status on the mob arena? What’s the status on the server update? What’s the status on the ‘new server’? What’s the status on the lag/low tps? Etc.
Yeah, it's not in the FAQ, I recall seeing it somewhere but looking again now, I think it was referring to Xbox only? Please inform your consumers.
this shouldn’t even be a thread. the devs should already be having this in the works but if what drogo said is true then damn i’m not saying this shouldn’t be a thread in a rude way, im saying that the devs should be catching everybody up and giving reminders/updates so that this thread shouldn’t have to exist but sheesh.
Its long been said that the communication between staff and players is lacking at times. Coming soon is not a statement that puts anyone's mind at ease.
JAWD543 fear no more, for after doing a bit of thread digging, I found that the server is promising an update around August 2021! Oh wait………………………………
It's bound to update soon anyways with all of the new Minecraft patches and updates being released just need to be patient.
Drogo is just going to paste this here again in case it was missed. The server update was announced about 13 months ago and many many times people have asked when this is happening and unless Drogo has missed it, there has been no info given at all. Is it our right to be heard or our right to be informed that is being ignored? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Consumer_Bill_of_Rights
Today in game, Krissy provided a bit of info as to the issues with the update and delays in general. She mentioned issues with inactive dev's and other dev's up and leaving. She mentioned that Dex is working hard and that there are other things in the works that she couldn't discuss. For Drogo personally, this is all he's been asking for. Sure he wants the server updated but in the meantime, just to be informed is great. Not sure why this response hasn't come on forums, when questions of this nature have come up in the past but thanks to Krissy for providing some info. There are a lot of players concerned that the flow of information is poor, and when it is asked for over and over and no information comes, people will feel disrespected and it creates a divide between players and staff. People will begin to think that things just aren't happening and they will get upset with that. An informed player base is likely to understand and sympathize with what ever struggles that exist. An uninformed player base will simply believe nothing is happening and feel like no one cares.
They will update at some point. Personally I really overlooked how time consuming and brain breaking coding is untill I gave it a try myself. Im sure they are working hard to make sure everything works when they eventually update, and it really can't be rushed.
We have been actively working on a 1.18.2 update but can't give an exact ETA of a release. It is our top priority however, many things have been finished but there are still very important aspects we need to figure out. We may also consider updating to 1.19 which will also take extra time.
