Hello, I am here to complain about the April Fools update. I want to opt out. It is not funny nor amusing. Idiots are going to think they are winning heads whenever they gamble. I hate everyone's skins. I refuse to play until it is removed, it's hideous and a terrible idea. Consider this constructive criticism and don't let your egos get bruised
I cannot come online today to see for myself, that's why I asked Sent from my M2102J20SG using Tapatalk
its one day... its a joke... at least we aren't a boring server xo This has been tested and there is no lag drops caused from it. If you don't want to play you don't have to we've made some changes for April fools day
If I'm going to be honest with you whatever updates we can get are really good at this point as the server struggles with recent updates. However, there are some things I did not agree with the April Fools Prank such as removing help channels from Discord, and things like that, and I believe some of it got taken too far as a joke.
Judging by Queen's reaction, I don't believe this lol and ngl, a struggling server like SkyBlock should not really annoy their loyal playerbase to the extent that they want to leave... Sent from my M2102J20SG using Tapatalk
As the saying goes; "don't bite the hand that feeds you". Well in this case, that would be the donor400's and Skytitans etc. Excellent response, couldn't have said it better myself.
Jeez maybe I really need to login and see the mess for myself... Still curious what is SO bad that it caused this outrage Sent from my M2102J20SG using Tapatalk
okay but.. it's not an update... it's a one day 24 hour thing? things that have been implemented: 1. rabbit skins for everyone - don't affect gameplay 2. all entities are a head of some kind - yes slightly annoying but that's the whole point of April fools... as I said - it's for one day. 3. villager sounds - turn your sound off Would you rather us do nothing for the server on occasions like this? It's all for fun and is not to be taken seriously. As I've said, if you don't like it there is no requirement to play.
Well last time I was logged in, the entire chat was ablaze with people furious that they had totally changed the way Minecraft looked and functioned (and in a horrendously childish way). Most people can't stand the texture of chests being changed for Christmas, let alone this.
We established that in my original post Yes, we would rather you do nothing for an occasion colloquially known as "APRIL FOOLS DAY" Or better yet, consult the community instead?
Drogo certainly sees how this could be used to scam unsuspecting players as they come online. Quick visit to them, drop some cobble at their feet, quickly pick it up. "Oops, Just dropped my heads! BTW, do you want to buy some heads, only 25 grass each."
Your opinions will be taken on board but as I've said 3 times now... If you don't like it you are not under any legal requirement to play. You can simply log off.
What I'm going to say here is I do not want to upset anyone in particular and I do not mean any hate to this. Skyblock's player base and Minecraft's in general has dropped in recent years as you may know, but there is survival for this server for at least a few more years if things are done right. The problem however, is the community's voice is not being heard as much as we would like, and we are the player base of skyblock. Just like the staff team, they are player's of skyblock too and not just staff. When people's voices aren't getting heard, they will tend just to leave and not come back and it can be a very frustrating setting. Currently, I see a lot of players unhappy with the current situation on their voice being heard and the way some of the staff are handling things. I believe an open discussion from both community and staff can be benefited from this. Take a video game for example. When a new game is announced and updates are not getting heard, the want to play that game only decreases and your motives to actually wait for something and get on can get you very impatient. Most developers do not listen to community feedback which causes a very stiff brick of negativity towards their game, while still not fixing the issues. I compare that to the current situation, as statements are being said but there can be a lot more done about everything. I'm not saying no one is putting in effort or time in these decisions because they do take some time, but there are some things I've noticed on forum that have been unnoticed that were promised for months/years and a direct answer would be great to the playerbase. We as players, only want to see this server grow again into a thriving server, that would be everyone's wish. I just believe there could be more done about this and it's not being primarily in the right way, or even at a way at all. If communications are not taken soon, I believe the playerbase and the community will drop and turn into a more negative place as when people's voices are not being heard, they tend to turn to hateful comments as they are upset about not getting a chance to speak their mind. Most of the time when minds are spoken across the community, it will get recognized but not talked about again/for months. While I'm going to go back to the main topic of this thread which is the Easter fool updates, I do not personally see any harm in the in-game updates as there aren't frequent updates, some of the updates were justifiable and can be seen as questionable and unnecessary, and when players would speak up about it it gets tossed in the trash. This update only applies to the people online today which would not reach a 100 player count on skyblock, like it would be at the minimum 24/7. Getting more people to the server is always great and is not a hard thing to do as Skyblock is advertised great! However, keeping the current playerbase is always the most important part of any living game and I think we can all agree on that. More communication/Updates with past/present community will only open up more activity from the players and the staff team. I'm not saying that players do not have a voice, everyone has a voice on any platform on here, however, they tend to always go unnoticed or are not taken seriously by staff, even if a majority of the community agrees. Some of the attitude of the staff team has been seen justifiable by a large portion of the players, and I'm hoping we can see a more positive change across the entire team
Emerald DM me, You have some valid points I'd like to talk through with you however, this tread is not the location. Thanks
Trade shops display heads as well. If someone renames cobble to something like "player head" and puts them in a trade chest??? Is this not a concern?
