Quite simply I want a stick that can be used to hit players to boot them off the island. The purpose of which is to play mini games that you need to quickly boot a player.

An example where this would be used is the pac-man mini game I'm working on. The ghosts would chase players and when "tagged" they would be removed.

You might ask why not type out the /boot command, because it's not fast enough. What you might also ask is why not PvP, the reason is simple I want people to keep their prizes even when they are "tagged".

I don't know for certain but I believe it would be doable. Please encourage the development of this item. If you're part of the staff and know if it's possible or impossible please let me know.

 

Support, i believe that we should use all the tools at the games disposal to make the server more fun and creative, also its a command that we can already use so having a "hotkey" to give it more uses would be nice and lead to new minigames in the server.

 

This would be a great add on! other little items like maybe a morph changer?? like when you play a mini game maybe like prop hunt but with morphs like animals and stuff so like a morph stick or item or somethin

 

I agree this would be amazing especially as Talisbar states for activities but also for other reasons aswell hope this gets added!

 

This would be useful for a lot of reasons, take for example you're being griefed and the name is very long so using /boot would be too slow so a boot stick that would instantly boot the person would be a great feature!

To be honest, this is kind of pointless. If you think using /boot is too slow well, just start typing faster. It’s not a long process to type /boot then put in a few letters of the name and auto fill the rest of the name. You could go a step further and have /boot copied so u just hit CTRL-V and then auto fill the name.

Even if it’s for mini game purposes, I don’t really like the idea of a “magic wand” that has magic disappearing capabilities. A few other questions as well. How do you get it? Do you always have it in your inventory? Does every coop member get it? What happens when you use it on other island? Now obviously it would be disabled and wouldn’t work on other islands but it just seems like a pointless thing to add. Since if you need to boot someone that is for example abusing trust and griefing or flying to places not allowed, you won’t be able to catch them and have to use /boot anyways. The only purpose is for something like this.

It could be obtained through the leg crate to add a new item to collect. If the co-op player uses it and it would be the exact same as the co-op player type the command line. If you were on someone else's island it wouldn't function just like if you type the command line on their island.

Yes but there is a boot command, why would you need a boot stick? Even with his reasoning I feel like this is a waste of time for developers to create.

 

You're playing a game that requires you to boot a player really quickly. They are wearing disguise how do you go about this?

Type /near hope they are easily to find in the list of names and quickly press T then ctrl+V auto fill name then enter. That takes too much time to play a game of Tag or Pac-man style of games.

 

You can make a rule saying no disguises and if they do, they get kicked from the island and event. That simple. Or have them sign a book saying they agree to the rules. There is a lot to think about. How will we obtain the stick, what will it be used for, is it craftable, it it tradable?

 

There is 12 people who have voted for the boot stick. 5 not supported badges and 2 supported badges so far. The general complaint seems to be that there's no purpose in having it. Though that doesn't really seem like a complaint because if it truly has no purpose than adding it to the game causes no issue.

That’s not the point. The point is that it will be a waste of time in some of our povs. It is not a complaint, it is simply an opinion.

 

This also brings up an idea that they could add a disable disguise in the /SB settings
