Mai, you are absolutely right. This has happened throughout Ursus’ application. Ok, listen up guys. Someone post farms, it’s not illegal, it’s a mistake. If he continuously does it, it can be forgiven too. You guys keep bringing up the topic about that. You guys may have post farmed too, I have once. Stop picking him about it. It’s a mistake which may happen repeatedly but you guys don’t talk about other applicants when they 3-5 bans for griefing or scamming. And, do not be rude to the applicant. If you have something to say, I recommend finding a way to put it nicely or ignore the application. Your opinion matters but, it matters when you respect them. A no support is fine, give a proper/valid reason and try to find something encouraging to say like you got this or good luck. Saying he isn’t qualified to be a staff member is just plain rude and can affect your application if you ever decide to apply. Remember one thing guys, don’t be rude, don’t disrespect and be nice.

I will agree, saying “f u” or any abbreviations that mean something bad can be inappropriate. If abbreviations such as them are allowed, I’m guessing that this topic should end and you guys can stop picking on him.

I think we now understand that he was messing around and that the person he said it to was not offended. Having some fun here and there does not automatically equal as a form of immaturity. Discord rules and forum rules are pretty different. There's a time and a place for everything.

I would like to apologize the the post on map art resellers it seem like an idea id put out there as a joke but people took it seriously. Sorry Ill work on it. The thread could have seemed vindictive or mean and was not intended that way. The situation has annoyed me quite a bit and I tend to joke about situation like that.

Just wanted to clear that up.
This was definatly a slip up and was not a good showing for someone who wants to be helper.

Ursus, you have recently tried to convince me that you are worthy of this role. From this mornings experience, I cannot see myself changing any time soon.

You created a thread for ‘naming and shaming’ map art resellers. I understand it may be frustrating to have a map art that you spent blood, sweat and tears creating, just to be resold by another user, but shaming these people certainly isn't a responsible way to act in this scenario, and further proves your lack of maturity. You stated afterwards that this was a joke, although it clearly wasn’t at first as you tried to convince players to island ban other players. Claiming it was a joke was clearly just a coverup attempt and you trying to defend yourself as you realised you had done wrong.

It’s nice to see that you have apologised for your actions, although the damage has been done. This is not something a responsible member of staff would do.
Sorry, but I do not see any potential in this applicant. Sticking with no support.

 

Honestly Togpuss I agree with you. I would neutral myself right now and I wound not be supprised is alot of people no supported me. I debated taking down my staff app after the responce to this. But then I asked myself a few questions.
1. why am I applying
I am applying because I want to help people. I stand to gain 0 out of becoming staff but i want to so I can help more people.
2. Can I realy expect people to still support my app after this
no i cant realy I belive I have undone a lot of the work I did to improve people's opinions of my staff app by helping people
3. why did I post that thread

I was quite frustrated and I had recently read and article and watched a John Oliver peice on HBO and thought it be a good idea to put this out as a joke and asses community response.

To be honest I think having a chat with all other map art seller with a list of resellers to be banned for all seller's islands would be good

In conclusion while a may have drasticaly lowered my chance of ever being mod. I am sticking with it because I want to help the comunity the best way possible.

Ursus, the fact that you don’t even support yourself with your own application just shows that you should consider if this really is the role for you.

Shaming other users is a bad way to handle things. Having a civilised conversation with the reseller would be a much more mature thing to do.
