Made a huge mob grinder/farm. In fact I made 2 of it. Light levels are below 7, setting is enabled, i'm staying close to the farm but not too close etc. No mobs are spawning. Any clues?
Mob farms without spawners have a decreased effeciency, in order to put value to mob spawners. Did you ensure that you were the proper distance away? Here is a helpful guide to understand mob spawning - Spawn – Official Minecraft Wiki I hope this helps!
Sometimes it takes a bit for mobs to spawn after the setting has been enabled. Others have had this issue. Good luck
Yep proper distance and everything. In this stackexchange thread someone said that player needs to move for the mobs to spawn. I think I'm going to build an afk rail system and try it that way. I'm out of ideas.
The sad truth is that currently, natural spawning rates on islands are incredibly slow. They only reach decent rates when they're not many players on, or if you have multiple accounts on your island, increasing the mob cap around you. Mobs will spawn, but it will be no where near the levels of vanilla. Try to ensure you're at least 24 blocks away as well.
I'm fairly new to this server, and have been having the same problem. Looking through the threads hasn't really helped either unfortunately. I've got the setting enabled for mobs to spawn, but nothing will. Not even outside of the grinder that I've built. Even the ones that do spawn through my spawner end up gone when I walk away for a few minutes or travel to the nether... Not sure what's going on here
Its basically the fact that mobs don't really spawn without a spawner. I would recommend doing /vote every day, and saving up for a spawner
Yeah, I'm pretty sure the mob spawning is broken. Not sure how spawning works on the server, but it Is very difficult to harness the mob spawning system.
Alright. Was hoping to not have to default to that, but that means I can reduce the size of my grinder at least. I bought Skylord thankfully, so coming up with enough grass to buy a couple spawners shouldn't take too terribly long. Thanks for the input
