Hey, I'm looking for an island (and potentially a partner) to make map art on. An image of what I'm looking to make is attached. I mainly play on economy, so that's where I'll mainly be looking. Thanks
The island would have to be centred and 149x (hard work/grinding + IRL money) so it'd be quite the expensive purchase.
Drogo got his by randomly visiting greenies until he found a suitably centred island and bought it from them for not too much. Had to upgrade it after that.

Drogo meant that he got the map art island for his alt. That last bit.. no idea. bad cut and paste I suspect.
I did a similar tactic to Drogo. I just went around new player's islands, used maps on them until I found a perfectly centred one. I got unlucky after being scammed twice by two players that had a combined play time of about 10 minutes- so err, I lost my dignity on that one. After a couple of hours of searching, and after spending a few stacks of grass on maps, I finally found an almost perfectly centred island, bought the 149x149 expansion, and realised I was 4 blocks off from the whole map being covered. *facepalm* I then had to splash even more grass to get the 200x200 expansion. What I'm saying here is, don't do what I did. On paper, the plan worked well, but in reality-- :L
Oh, that's gotta hurt a bit. Drogo just created a simple algorithm in excel, plugged in the coordinates of their bedrock and was able to tell straight away if the island was suitable. No maps required. Found one dead center of map canvas after about an hour.
Great, Is it all the above? Like Centered and The appropriate size on eco? If not, I'd love to do it on Skyblock as well. Would you be willing to release the program? If not, that's cool. I understand coding something and not wanting to release it. Thanks.
Also, You should know, This will be my first map anywhere. I'm not experienced at all, and this loll be a learning experience for me. If You're still willing to partner, That's great, if not, It's cool.
What I did was just look at the island generation algorithm and worked out where the next applicable island would be generating. Then as soon as the island before that had been made I just quickly /newisland’ed and snagged it! I still have not upgraded it yet
It was only a formula in an excel spreadsheet (perhaps algorithm wasn't the right word) but Drogo didn't keep it. Essentially both the X and the Z coordinates need to be a multiple of 128 or very close to it. So you take the X coord and divide it by 128. If it's a whole number then perfect, if it's close to a whole number then it might be ok. Then you do the same for the Z coordinate. Drogo did do the math to determine exactly how close it needed to be for the 128x128 map to fit within a 149x149 island but can't recall what it was. If Drogo gets time, he'll look at it again. If you divide either coordinate by 128 and get something like 123.5 (the key being the .5) then you won't be doing any mapart here even if you had a 199x199 island. Just be aware the center of someone island may not be at their spawn as the have moved it with /sethome. You will have to find their bedrock to know your'e in the center.
