I need new ideas for an island. Nothing practical - no shops, no trading centres, no casinos etc.

I'm willing to do terraforming again as it's something that Im half decent at (/visit Equineintl on Classic for an example) but if you have other ideas I'm open for suggestions. I've been playing around with castle walls and other buildings that are similar but frankly I'm not too chuffed with how it's come out. Any ideas are appreciated - though I do hate modern buildings in Minecraft.

Frankly thats why I'm asking – I don't like modern type buildings in the slightest, I think they require too much space to look decent on the outside, and often times too 'blocky' Medieval town may look cool to be fair but I feel as if once other blocks are placed in, such as beacons it can often disrupt the look of the whole island. Perhaps something more natural is more to my taste (if that makes sense)

 

I’m a huge fan of medieval towns! In fact my triple island chain is based off of it and early modern. Hoping to cram in a couple of ships too.

 

Just toss the beacons in the corners or make them shoot thru your towers

 

My island at /visit j0rdantv2 is a very simplistic island which will include a huge rustic mid evil castle on both the islands with integrated mine shafts ravines ect check it out maybe you can do the same

 

Righto. So Ive taken up your guys' suggestions on a medieval island. I stole the building designs (tweaked a bit but mostly someone else's work) but the terraforming I've done by hand.. not sure whether in a medieval town the roads or landscaping is supposed to be flat or hilly, and whether there should be more stone or should it be more 'grassy'. Cheers

 

Cool island man, though terraforming needs quite a bit of work. Grass on hills are never just one block. There should be dirt layers underneath in order to make it seem more natural if that makes sense. Simple fixes but super cool

 

Ehh I prefer having just the one grass block because 75% of that one grass block is just dirt animation

 

Medieval is boring tbh. Loads of people have done medieval builds. Try out something unique maybe like cookie land or candy land LMAO or something new entirely
