1v1 PvP Tournament Event Information. The tournament is scheduled for Friday, May 1st at 9pm Eastern U.S. time (New York). It will take place in the arena on Golden_Belle's island (/visit Golden_Belle) The arena consists of a fighting surface surrounded by a wall with an iron door on each end. It is recommended that contestants play using v.1.12 to avoid the door glitch that may make it tough to enter the fight. It is circular (for lack of a better word) in shape composed primarily of packed ice. There is a square of chiseled stone bricks surrounding a 3x3 hole in the center. The fighting surface is surrounded by a large viewing area including general seating and 12 exclusive, private luxury boxes. Sign ups now-May 1st. The cost is 10 grass per contestant. This will be a single elimination tournament so it will be capped at numbers that fit this format (8, 16, 32). Contestants will be entered in the order that their entry fee is received. Refunds will be given if: 1. The contestant withdraws at least 24 hours before the event. 2. The event doesn't reach a minimum of 8 participants. 3. The event doesn't reach the next cap (if 11 people sign up, the 9th-11th contestants will be cut and receive a refund). This contest is to gauge player's PvP skills on an even playing field (not who downloads the best hacks or buys the best gear) therefore all contestants will use the same gear in battle. You will receive the following prior to your battle. (All items unenchanted) 1 set of leather armor 1 stone sword 1 bow 5 arrows Rules: Read the following rules carefully. 1. The winner of each round will be the contestant that does not die. In the event of a tie, the round will be replayed. 2. Each contestant is encouraged to not bring any personal items into battle. Contestants are only permitted to use the items provided. 3. The use of any pvp hacks is strictly prohibited and will result in disqualification from the tournament. 4. The use of /fly is prohibited. Additionally, any spectators who enter the fighting area, or otherwise interfere with the fight, will be permanently banned from the island and the current battle will be restarted. 100% of the entry fees received will be given out as prizes to top finishers. The number of places that receive prize payouts and the amount of each payout will depend on the size of the tournament. Looking for volunteers as well. I'm also looking for 1 or 2 players who want to volunteer to "work the event". Mainly the role will be to help spot hacks among contestants and identify any spectators who may interfere in the event so they can be removed. Donators appreciated. If anyone wants to donate to increase the prize pool that would be appreciated as well. If you want to donate map art that advertises your island I will put those along the wall of the arena. Remember, it is the order that I receive 10 grass from you in-game that determines your spot in the tournament, not the order you tell me you're signing up. See you in the arena! -Golden_Belle
9pm Eastern daylight time. (Can be adjusted with an influx of people, perhaps from west coast where 6pm would be too early). I actually thought about this but as I checked the settings it says when you enter pvp mode, god mode is automatically disabled, so we're good.
4 hours ahead I guess (never use GMT so that was new information for me) so that would be 1am GMT on Saturday May 2nd to be as precise.
For my schedule starting anytime between about 4pm and 10pm my time works for me, so I'll have to see what works for the majority of people that are interested in signing up.
U know it wont be called PvP if u have /god on since they wont be able to hit you. Golden_Belle maybe add another rule stating Hacks like KillAura, TpAura, etc aren't allowed too?
Updated OP. But I would not be the best to look for these sorts of things. If someone who doesn't want to fight wants volunteer to be a spotter of sorts for the competition that would be appreciated.
I put you both on the list. It's going to be pretty spotty over the next few days as the wifey has a decent break from work which means very little game time for me. Her next shift is next Wednesday so if we can't connect before then I'll be on for several hours.
Honestly the server is quite laggy and might not be capable for PvP, not to mention the fact that the server supports versions 1.9 - 1.15.2 which means that for players using newer versions there will be attack delay. Some people may also be more experienced in certain types of PvP, such as OP PvP and Hardcore UHC. Sounds like fun though, so I will consider participating Cheers
