What's everybody's opinions on the nether being reset? Personally, my diamonds need to be sold ASAP, what does everyone think about this?

It's pretty normal lol. It's not really supposed to be too big a deal, mainly because it's typically reset bimonthly. But at least it has been reset now woo hoo

Yeah, I agree-it's just a pretty bad time as diamond value has been a pretty hot topic in the community recently. That being said, I think I know a few shops that buy diamonds that won't have been online in the past hour so hopefully I can get a friend to cash my dias in

I don't think it should reset, If we reset it, the diamonds/quartz's prices will go low even more, I say reset the nether once every year.

I completely agree this would ruin the values of diamonds even More. quartz don't matter because you can buy em at spawn for 1 dia I think we could have regularly resets ever 2 months just remove nether fortresses or replaced iron and diamonds with grass

Chris, you had one of the best arguments to disabling nether fortresses I've ever heard. Unfortunatley, people didn't listen. I need to get my friend to cash in my dias real quick, but honestly it's a terrible idea to reset nether fortresses. We could easily have monthly resets if this was the case.

The nether resets every 2 months (roughly) so it gives other people the chance to find a nether fortress - not one that has been raided. The quartz already has a low drop rate, so it won’t decrease in value lots because people will just become tired of mining quartz eventually! (I know I did in the first month or two). The problem with the nether being reset once a year, is that the nether would be completely stripped of its contents in the first few months and then you have an empty nether for the rest of the year. It would be a better approach if it wasn’t reset on a 2 monthly basis, but on when there were resources lacking in the nether. It’s personally not a problem for me in the nether, I seem to be able to cope with the nether being every 2 months, but if it makes other people happy then I guess make the time longer!

I'm pretty happy except the fact I spawned in a cave and had to dig my way out lol

Overall I am impressed, I feel like the nether should be reset more often (wasn't that the original idea to reset it monthly?) cause the moment the nether is reset, literally people start taking over the nether fortresses which makes it more difficult to find one that hasn't been raided. Also as Southwark said, resources would be stripped which means it would take longer to find them. The last nether was pretty good and I think I sucked a lot of the resources lol.

I personally don't think we should wait till the resources are sucked completely cause that would mean players would literally have to travel long distances just to mine 5 nether quartz and end up obtaining 1 nether quarts, which really is a waste of time and energy. Having it reset a month or around a month would introduce various maps that would make it good. For example you might have one map that has dozens of fortresses or one with a lot of quartz, etc.

Sorry, by saying the resources are gone I mean that it should be when players have to venture out more to find these resources. :)

I don’t see what the issue is. People already ruined diamond prices before we had the nether. Now it’s more ruined, might as well just keep things as they are and adapt.
Mainly the nether being reset is a good thing, especially for newer players to have a chance to explore. For my purposes, which is netherrack, well it wouldn’t matter too much.

I feel it's important to remind everyone, that inflation happens the worst when exactly this happens. People predict something happening to the price of something, everyone rushes to sell that thing, the supply is greater than the demand and the price plummets.

I don't really understand how resetting a nether would decrease the value of diamonds, as skytitans and Donor400s get quite a lot of diamonds in their kits, along with people winning diamonds from mob arena, voter crates and simply from voting. If you're talking about diamonds spawning from nether fortresses then that's rare. They have a rare chance of them spawning in nether fortress chests

Going farther with my comment previously, it's possible that people think it will affect diamond prices, thus selling, price decrease, inflation. Which would be comical.

Nether should be reset every 1-2 months. It's not fair to new users who want those rare things.

I've gone through about 50 unraided nether fortress chests since the reset and I got:

    2 obsidian
    22 diamonds.

I think they should swap the rarity of the two. Diamonds should be more rare than obsidian.

Nether reset should be automatic. It's manual currently, right?
