Why do you think you should become a helper?

Personality​

I’m a friendly, kind, laid back, silly, patient, understanding, and selfless. Because of my general personality, I’m approachable and not intimidating at all. Although I am laid back and silly, I know when to be serious and enforce rules.

Helpful​

I do both public and private chat when helping. If someone initiates a private conversation with me, I tend to keep it that way and have one on one conversations when helping. I don’t want to look like I’m talking to myself and I think it makes it easier for the person to read and follow along with what I’m saying. Because of the one on one, it might not seem like I do much. However, if someone asks for help publicly, I do help publicly. When helping someone, I make sure that their questions are definitely answered. I know that players can have difficulties, such as having trouble reading chat, being slow to respond, being distracted, and whatever else there is, but I’m patient and I assist them until they are completely helped. I may not know literally everything, but I do learn new things about Skyblock little by little and I make sure to remember them so I can help others.

Calm & Understanding​

I like to resolve problems as nicely and peacefully as possible, remaining calm and collected. I don’t like making an unnecessarily big deal about problems and I don’t like being way too serious and strict. I do not get annoyed or angry easily. I always try to understand and make up with others if I can, rather than immediately attacking someone or feeling negatively about the situation. I do understand in certain situations, rules are rules and I will follow the protocols, regardless of any personal feelings or how nice and lax I can be. If I am unsure or not confident about anything, I would communicate with more experienced team members to get some help.

Trustworthy & Honest​

I am very trustworthy. I have been trusted on many different islands, and the most common reason is to help build since I have fly. I have been able to return any items that was given to me (accidentally or intentionally). I have enchanted/repaired armor, weapons, tools. I have moved spawners and changed their type for players who can’t do that. There were many times where people risked themselves by showing or paying me in-game items first before receiving their upgrades, but I always make sure to definitely complete what I promised.

Active​

I‘m mostly active in game. I try my best to be attentive to in game chat so I can help others. Since the new servers came out, I sometimes hop around between net, org, and classic, but I am mostly on net since that's where I started. I’ll work on hopping around more, I sometimes see the other servers lacking mods when something happens. I am definitely active on the forums. I may not post tons on the forums, but I do read it often. Also the same on Discord chat. For Discord, I’m a silent stalker. Sometimes I answer a question in help chat, but since there’s already mods to do their job, I just read it only to be educated on things I didn’t know before. Most of the time, I’m just asking for help or reporting something. I don’t read general chat, and I don’t really have conversations on it. However, I’m willing to work on reading general chat more to help moderate it. I can also work on actually engaging in conversations in general if that kind of activity what’s needed. I do interact with players in game and on the forums, so at least I’m involved with the community that way.

Quick​

I can get on the server very quickly since I have a fast laptop. I was curious and I did a test and timed myself from turning on and booting up the laptop, logging into my desktop, opening Minecraft, loading Forge, and entering the server. All of that only took me about a minute only. I think this is a good thing to have as sometimes, I’ve seen mods being away (Ex: school) or struggling with their computers and saying they would have to come later and etc.

How long can you be active on the server everyday?​

I did get busy for a bit in fall 2018, but I sorted things out. I’m starting to increase activity once again, and right now, I can come on any time since I’m mostly home. Of course, I do have a life outside of Minecraft, so sometimes I have to do work, chores, errands, things to attend to, eating, sleeping etc. But feel free to see if I’m available and ask me to come online (using Discord) if the server needs someone on in a minute or less.

Nope.

Do you have any past experience as a moderator?​

Yes, I've been a moderator twice for other Minecraft servers. The first server is closed down and the second server is just really tiny (15-20 capacity) and dead so I quit that place after a while. I know a lot of commands, and I have worked with a bunch of plugins, but I may need some relearning to do, as permissions/plugins/commands and vary from server to server. Outside of Minecraft, I train and handle dogs. I've dealt with all types of personalities, shy, stubborn, aggro, etc. I've learned how to be patient and figure out different ways to train them as not all of them will process training similarly.

Okay, I’ll work on being on Discord more. But what specifically? Talking in general or helping more on help chat?

Yeah, definitely timezone issues. But I do try to be on often on my timezone.

 

Perhaps I’m not very uh...public enough? Like being very obvious and noticeable about everything I do. I silently read chat then when I help, sometimes I just go and help without announcing to the entire world about it or making it clear someone had responded to the person in need. Sometimes my thank you’s seem like random thank you’s in chat or they’re private if we were privately talking. All I’ve got to back me up is a sign wall on my old island (my alt owns it now) with all the people I’ve helped thanking me. I did not place any of the signs myself and it could be logged to confirm it being placed by unique players. I’ll try to be more obvious then if you want me to show that.

I don't mean to come off that way. I do like helping others regardless of applying or not. Ever since I submitted, I have been trying to take what others have said into consideration. You're right, I won't deny that it has changed me personality wise. It made me come off as doing this just for the sake of the application and I apologize for that. But I won't give up, I'll continue helping out players and I'll try to be myself more.
