Welcome to my helper application. I've decided to reapply (again) as I've been active and will continue to be active on the server (mainly economy). I'm actually having a lot of fun on the new economy server and what I learned as a mod back in 2016 and 2017 is that to be active, you have to enjoy being on the server.

Many of you might note that I am inactive on forums with is true to an extent. I don't post often because I don't have much to post but I usually lurk around reading threads.

    NOTICE
All helpful and constructive comments are appreciated. If you leave a support/no support, please leave some feedback so I can improve.

    Your in-game name:
    Sxrge (Nick: usually Sarge)

    What timezone are you in?
    Pacific Standard Time

What country do you live in?
    United States of America

    What languages do you speak?
English, French (I am a French American and grew up in a bilingual household) and Spanish.

    Do you have 2FA enabled?
    Yes

Do you have the necessary means of capturing evidence? (i.e. recording software, screenshots, etc)
I have screenshots and Gyazo which is what I used as a mod before. It's usually enough.

Why do you think you should become a mod?

With the experience of having previously moderated for close to a year before resigning, it's my opinion that I can make valuable contributions to the staff team by covering hours when other staff aren't online, mainly on the economy server (I understand that this position is for all servers).

As a mod, I discovered key attributes to being a moderator that I've improved on since those glorious moderating years.

    - The first, being able to improvise, overcome and adapt. Mods come across many situations that don't have a word for word standing in the rules. Since humans are inherently special, every encounter and offense is unique. As a result, I've had to adapt the rules to a specific case, often consulting fellow staff members to determine an appropriate punishment.

    - The second is being aware of when you're in over your head (I did not learn this one until after I was a mod). As a mod, you're part of the staff team. You need to be aware when you can't handle a problem and have other moderators and staff members support you or if it's really bad, have a senior staff member take over for you. I have gained a sense of being overwhelmed and it's quite easy for me now to know when I need a fellow mod's help, assistance or answer to a question.

    - Thirdly, patience, patience, patience! Being a moderator requires an enormous amount of patience. Anything involving other people usually involves patience from helping a greynie build a cobble generator to trying to retrieve various items from a grief. Mods are detectives and must use intuition to follow traces.

    - Which brings me to number four: Intuition. I know the tools mods have, I'm aware of the support system I have at my disposition, now it's time to use them in a creative way to be efficient and productive.

    A couple of bonuses...
Experience: I know what moderating is and what is requires out of someone. I know that moderating requires sacrifice and holding yourself to a higher standard than you usually would. It requires strength and commitment not to crack under the pressure of people insulting you.

Tactful: I know what it's like to get griefed scammed, killed by lava etc on this server and know how bad it can feel when someone is able to take advantage of you. I believe I have the tact necessary in dealing with people who've recently had wrong done to them by a malicious player.

Social: It's really important to be social. As a mod, I interacted with a lot people and enjoy doing it!

Mature: For some time now, I have had a job which required a lot of responsibilities and vigilance. I feel like I can transplant that to the server. Honestly, I was very immature when I first joined as a greenie 12 year old in 2013, however I've matured over the past years. Even since I was last moderating, I've learned through many new life experiences.

Experience: I know what moderating is and what is requires out of someone. I know that moderating requires sacrifice and holding yourself to a higher standard than you usually would. It requires strength and commitment not to crack under the pressure of people insulting you.
I'm familiar with many of the commands and even though there's new commands since there's a new plugin, I'm a fast learner. It won't take me very long to learn 'em.

How long can you be active on the server everyday?
I'm usually on from around 9pm to 12:00am (PST) on weekdays and a lot more on the weekends depending on the week end. During breaks, I'm on at all wacky times of day.
    Monday-Friday: 9pm to 11pm PST
Saturday to Sunday: 6pm to 12am

(I'm more of a nocturnal player because I'm generally busy during the day)

How long have you been playing Skyblock?
I've been playing Skyblock for over 5 years now (since December 2013). I was promoted to .Net Trial moderator on October 22, 2016, then promoted to Full moderator November 26, 2016. I resigned on April 23, 2017.

Have you ever been banned in the past? (In-game)
I have been banned three times, once for greifing a player I have now befriended. I was totally in the wrong and I've now owned up to my mistakes.
A second was for being too close to the mod vault. I was able to find the Mod Vault with some friends (One of whom became a mod later (Adrian Monk)) and I got banned for being near it.
And a third for greifing my own island which was a quite interesting ban.

I've become a mod since ALL of my bans so I don't believe they're very relevant.

Do you have any past experience as a moderator?
Yes! I moderated on this server for close to 7 months a couple years ago and learned the ways of the mods back on classic Skyblock. I'm familiar with old commands but I'm sure they have changed by now. I know how do deal with reports and appeals as well as other mod functions. I'm familiar with forums even though like in game, I'm sure things have changed!

Do you meet the requirements for staff? Yes

P.S. Please comment on why you support and why you don't! Thanks for reading.

    Thank you for reading!

It was great moderating with you when we were both mods and you are friendly and all but you only just came back so I am going to say neutral until I can see that you are well and truely dedicated to spend a lot of time on this server

I don't know, I've known you long enough to know that you do a great job with moderating, but every single person who re-applied after several chances to be mod, went inactive after the first few weeks and got demoted or resigned. I'm not saying you are one of those people, but that's from past experience and it's risky.

You were a good mod, and I support this. I don't know how active you are as I don't play anymore, but I guess just stay active and do what you did before lmao.

    Goodluck

Neutral leaning support. Ive only started to see you, both economy and survival, but with increased activity will bring a support from me. Best of luck, my friend :)

    Thank you, Bert :)
The common issue here is activity which makes perfectly good sense to me! Actually, my activity will only go up after January 5th as all my college applications (which is what has been killing me) are due then.

    Neutral,

I know you are going to be active again, but I'm pretty sure you need to help some people out?

Neutral, you were a great staff member and you have a nice personality - but you've just come back from a long break and I feel like you need to prove your activity on all platforms first.

    Good luck :)

As much as I trust you'll be great at helper, you seem to be back after quite a break. Once I see activity pop up, you'll definitely have my support.

    Good luck!

Neutral, you seem active here in forums but I don’t see you in game but I think t is because you play eco, I play there more now so I can look after you and if I see you help I can change my neutral to support

Support, my fellow nerd! You were one of my favourite mods a few years ago, and you are still one of my favourite salty ex-mods now. I don't doubt your skills at moderating, since you've proven it to us before.
By the way, I've seen that most neutral comments saying "I don't see you online often" are made by players who spend most of their time on net (survival). I invite all of you guys to come to org, when you'll see Sarge being online for an unhealthy amount of time (exagerated? Who knows). Anyway, good luck french nerd! SargeForTNub BertBerry

I would LOVE to moderate with you once again, however I’d like to keep an eye out on your activity for now, as it’s not long since you made a return.

Make sure you get comfortable with all the changes, since it’s been a very long time since you moderated here.

Furthermore, staff are expected to be active on both the survival and economy servers, so balance the activity between the servers. On top of this, consider whether you like the survival server enough to also staff there, since you stated you’re having fun on the economy server.

Obviously, I’ll be looking out for you and hopefully once I notice these points, I’ll make a positive judgement.

    Good luck!

Thank you for taking the time to read my application and commenting. You're all correct in that if I saw someone apply after a break, I'd expect continued activity for a while before giving a support.
Now it's a question of time. I'll be active, around and will definitely be increasing activity on all platforms (well I guess that'll be for all of you to determine :) ).

    Boss,

Thank you for your kind and thoughtful words. I've been familiarizing myself with commands since I came back in May (then I lurked around for a while). And of course, I'll be active on both servers, this is after all a position for Skyblock in general. I was just noting that for the time being, my activity would lean towards economy.

Splat, calling me inactive on discord is more than fair.
However, I don't believe the three bans are very relevant. As I stated in my application, since the three bans I have been promoted to Trial moderator and then full moderator on the classic server (before you joined in September,2018) and I've had a clean slate since.
I'll sure to try to explicitly help out more in chat and increase activity on discord.
Thank you for your comments :)

Thank you Fran and Souleater for the support!
