Withdrawn Bard's Helper Application

Introduction
Hello everyone. I'm Bard, though you should probably have figured that out by now, and this is my helper application! A lot of you may see me actively in the game either helping other people or just having a nice time with everyone else. I am a really fun guy with a friendly personality. With that being said, enjoy my helper application ^-^

Experienced:
Since joining the server in late 2014, I really got into the groove of Skyblock and really began to enjoy the community. I always asked questions in chat, but you always gain knowledge from learning. You'll see me answering countless questions in the chat, correctly as well, because I used to be one of those kids. A game is no fun to play when you're clueless when help is right in front of you.

Active:
As someone who is on almost every day, I can be on for countless hours, and many can agree. Regardless of most time-zones, I'm on day and night. More often than not, there aren't any staff members online, especially the weekdays, when I often am on. When I am on discord with a few mods and I'm in-game i'll point things out for them to get on and handle that most players wouldn't be bothered to report. Having a moderator online often isn't a bad thing, but rather reassuring that any problems or conflicts may be instantaneously resolved. I think being online as much as I do would be very beneficial to the server if I became a helper.

Mindful:
In chat, sometimes we can get carried away and start drifting towards sensitive or unpleasant topics. I've learned to realize whenever it is happening, especially if I'm taking part in it. I always try to keep in mind that this is a kids game in the end and there are kids playing on this server, therefore the chat should be kid-friendly. I don't do this because I'm uncomfortable with the chat, but rather it could make a number of others uncomfortable as well, which isn't something anyone wants.

Respectful:
Though I'm very used to it by now, I know that I can be seen as a controversial person, at least from the past, and I'm always going to get criticism and that wont change. What can change is my attitude about it, which I have definitely worked on, and hopefully my improvements reflect upon my behavior. When someone is bothering me on my island, I'll simply ask them to stop what it is they're doing politely, or boot them. I've been doing my best to stay polite and make as less of a big deal out of small situations as humanly possible.

Quick at typing:
Though Arceus has an impressive 100+ wpm rate, my wpm rating is only 95. Though with that being said, I'm often winning the skychat, responding to players quickly when they need help, and simply easier to talk to as you generally would have to wait 30 seconds for me to respond to something. Typing fast is essential, in my opinion, because you can be quick on the eye to see multiple issues at the same time in the fast moving chat as well as handling them effectively as well.

Mature:
As ironic as it seems, I'm maturing as a person and a player, as many have noticed. For instance, a player who was disliked by many others (keeping name private) but I had a liking towards this certain player because of his enthusiasm to play the game, socialize, and be an active part of the chat, in which he was mercilessly rejected. Nonetheless, I pursued to do my very best to keep this player in game and feel welcome to the furthest of my abilities, as well has have others help me do so. But my point is that I've moved on from being a toxic brat in the chat to seeing right from wrong and handling things as much more professionally than most others would.

Friendly:
A great motivation to stay friendly in the chat is gratitude from other players. I enjoy the simple "ty" i receive from players after answering a question, or telling them how to fix a redstone build. A while ago, people seemed to have skipped over this player asking for help in getting his old account back, so I messaged him, got his discord, and helped him get a support ticket into Mojang along with Southwark's help. But I am always willing to help others to make sure that skyblock is a friendly, fun environment for all players.

Consistent:
Almost everyday now that I'm on, I am actively, interactively, and consistently helping all players who need it. A lot of the time, I explain what the fix is to their issue and help them rather than doing it for them. As a player, I also prefer to not spam forums with reports for a lot of minor offenses, but instead sending mods/helpers screenshots of people doing things like advertising and whatnot. I feel with my consistency and constant play time, I am ready to take the next step and become a part of the team.

You will often see me online at night (PST) when there are no staff members on for hours until fall asleep as I help new players out. Though being on at night is never definite, I thought it'd be good to know.

How long I've been playing Skyblock:
I originally joined the server ~2014, quit a year, joined back around 2015, played actively for a year, quit again due to personal issues, and recently joined back ~2 months ago.

Have I ever been banned?
Only on discord. Though I was unaware I broke a rule. What happened was I sent the infamous Navy Seal copypasta into the chat (I changed all bad words to frick, heck, etc) but was banned for "threatening to kill someone." In the end it was a big misunderstanding but I understand the logic in it. I have not been kicked, banned, or muted since joining back to the new server.

Experience:
For the past month or so, Michael and Cyk have essentially taken me under their wing to help me improve as a player and a staff candidate. I've learned things like the basics of logblock, unwritten rules, how to deal with certain situations, and how to dedicate my impulsivity for the better. I believe this is a great head-start if I'm ever selected to be a part of the staff team.

More experience:
I work as a soccer referee, being in charge of varying age groups. What that has to do with experience shows that I have a responsibility to make sure the game runs as smoothly as possible and to make proper decisions in order to keep things in order. Things that being a referee and a helper/moderator are but not limited to:

• Receiving constant criticism
• Being told by others how to do my job
• Keeping cool and in charge in heated situations
• Making a proper decision based on what's going on
• Having a keen eye for people breaking rules
• Absolutely no biases influencing my decisions

I've known you for a while, and we have had a rough past, however, I will try to judge this application as if I have just met you, and as if you're a new person. Everyone deserves a second chance.

Overall, your application seems to be detailed, and it holds vital information that one would need in order to make an appropriate decision on your application. With that being said, there are also some suggestions that I have in order to improve your application. » Make sure your whole application is the same size, and font.
» Make sure to list the questions, and follow with the answer.
» Spacing! Add more space in between your questions.

I see what you mean, it was frustrating, and please change the title of the video if you were the uploader. There was no scam involved. I gave kerhana the best evidence i could and the whole thing was resolved. Though i was frusterated, I did not bring it to chat, and kept it private. Still though, ill half support your stance

(edit: for anyone reading this, my casino dispenses 5 wool in a game and my laptop rendered 4, and we got into a big argument.)

 

Please don't accuse me of that video I have nothing to do with that video it isn't mine I did not record it I never played your casino.
A staff member should know how to defuse a situation with an angry / frustrated person
yes the staff team can get frustrated some times but they need to know how to control their angry and not say anything rude or disrespectful to a player.

 

have not known you for long but i can see that you have had a rough past like me so i belive in second chance but for reasons listed above im only putting a neutral hope you get staff though

I support you. I myself have had a rough past on the server, I was just recently unbanned from a permanent ban, but I feel that I have changed and I can see that in you too. I'd be great to see you help more and I think that'd help you become a mod/helper. But when I see you on the server I never see you as disrespectful or rude. Good luck!
