Heya! With the easter drop party just around the corner, I felt the need to make this suggestion; I don't know if this will already take effect but I want to raise a concern I have about the drop party, Like last year, there are some players who have over two accounts online whilst the drop party is commencing, I believe we need to have a limit on the number of players per IP. Some players like to take advantage of there alternative accounts to raise their chances of achieving a head hence causing other people with multiple accounts to have an unfair advantage On top of this, much less important though an overall restriction would also be a good addition considering their are players who log in with up to around ten accounts to either raise there chances in the lottery, Bot spam, Mass grind materials and get lots of grass and keys in vote parties. Maybe an overall restriction of four accounts per IP?
I believe staff were kicking players that had more than two accounts on (main and an alt) which would make sense to make it fair. Support though
I believe so also but it was quite a late move, by that point, there were many players with multiple alternative accounts with staff only telling players 20 or so minutes before the event took place, I just wanted to acknowledge that it could be an issue before the drop party.
Even if staff started kicking the players the lag that is usually present makes it difficult to manage it that way. Which is why an actual restriction should be in place.
Support, the last DP it was hard for staff to keep up with kicking alts, so this would be very useful
Support, it'll be difficult to stop this completely, but adding an IP restriction may help reduce the issue.
Agreed. Its a step in the right direction though, It discourages people from it as it can be a pain to get a bunch of VPNs going on different devices just to increase your chances in winning a few heads.
Support. I think four - five is a reasonable number, considering lots of people use alts to farm items.
Support. Possibly there should only be up to 2 accounts allowed. Up to 5 accounts is another possibility but i think 2 is fair for all.
In my opinion, this should be like other servers. Give the mods and helpers access to /ip ban. This bans all accounts within the given IP of the original banned player, and restricts alternate accounts from logging into the server. This is a very simple alternative to staff having to /ban every account manually, or changing it to where only a few alternate accounts per IP are allowed. However, I can see the unbalance between players with alternate accounts, opposed to players without them. It does give an unfair advantage to players with the alts. So I'm going to have to be neutral on this topic.
So what would you do for day a school or hotel or another place that has 1 ip address but meny users. This is one reason they don't ip ban. So if you were one of these single account players that got banned because another player had to meny accounts on that share the same ip as you. You wouldn't like it
Not sure how much this would do. Vpns are not all too hard to get. For the people who really want to have a lot of accounts on, they’ll do that. Furthermore this suggestion being specifically for the Easter drop party might be a little too late.
It was a thing before... these limits. And it is simple to bypass yet it just makes it harder and more effort. It also helps keep control when the server starts lagging like hell.
For the drop party, it’s understandable and I support that. However throughout the normal times when there are no events, I don’t think that’s a good idea. I mean we bought the accounts fair and square (unless if they’re cracked - in which case maybe the server should try and detect cracked ones and not allow them from joining) so that only real accounts would be able to join.
