People using instant-nuker kills the server with severe lag. I rest my case.

The server does have an anti Cheat. It is a cause of the flying is not enabled glitch. Nuker is a client side addon that scans the area for a block id and breaks it, or it can flat out break any block. It has the same potential and mining ability as a player, but instead mines blocks behind the player, in front, above, etc. It is efficient, and is used mostly in id mode.

Lag caused by nuker may be block related. Adding an anti cheat only for nuker seems a little absurd. It may think a player is cheating when they aren’t. I will think about this.

There also is a rule for hacking on your island. Using nuker is allowed on your own island. Not allowing this means many hacks/cheats will be disallowed. A rule update will have to be in place.

Well not really, recently Leeeroieee told me that many players (including me) who keeps nuking makes the server TPS a single digit, so its kinda one of the reasons of lag ;/

 

There's a client called Aristois, which I happen to have. I made a post about it earlier. The nuker for this particular client has the effect of instantly freezing the server (with the exception of chat). I tested it three times, since I wasn't sure if it was really causing it.

I can confirm that the nuker for this particular client causes severe lag instantly on multiple servers. I don't want to prove it since it damages the server, but staff feel free to try it out.

I don't think we need 1 its perfectly fine the way it is a server is gonna lag no server is perfect and lee is doing his best to keep the lag away

 

The server keeps getting massive lag spikes and it gets really annoying. Support if this is the issue.

 

Support because my ping is now like 10000 and that is bad for picking up items. Also big islands are the biggest cause of lag

lag is lag you can't fix it like I got a new MacBook for Christmas when I logged on it took 0 seconds to load as I used it its been like 3 months I had it it takes like 7 secs for it to load it gets progressivly worse as it goes on like classic it was like 6 years old and the lag was bad so we made a new sb and lee is doing his very best

 

Well, we could always get another host that supplies like 128 gb of ram lol

 

No, I know for a fact that instant nuker kills the server for a few minutes. Like gamer said, he’s tested it with proof, and I know people that use it. It’s absolute aids.

 

Some nuker clients do cause extreme server lag, and anyone who is continuing to deny this is ignoring facts. Perhaps we could identify and block these hacked clients. This should hopefully let those who use nuker in a sane fashion continue to use it.

If you think I'm incorrect, I'll prove it to you with a mod present so I don't get banned for intentionally causing lag.

I haven't tested it since the week of the server release, since it caused the server to freeze up, so I'm not sure if it's been patched.

 

Most instant nukers will get you auto-kicked

 

I've honestly never used, or seen anyone using an instant nuker on the server. Therefor I have never experienced any lag with this issue. I've been going along my business fine, and have had no negative experiences with this client.

 

Declining for now as we have since fixed the issue that was causing extreme lag whenever players broke large numbers of blocks at a time. We may implement an anti-cheat system in the future, but it's not a priority as this time.
