All of a sudden several moderators resign, people are becoming more agressive towards each other, I don't know why it takes 6 months to make a server, everyone left, the server is pretty much dead, we need more moderators to control the behavior of people, some of the moderators right now are inept, the server was splendid a year or 2 ago, does cyp just not care?

I guess we have to face reality and the answer to skyblock is that it's time to shut down because That was then, this is now

Well I never think skyblock would become what is it right now. Well the community. It was all fine back in 2015 and looking what it has become now makes me sad. But I have hope that the community might get better with the new server coming out. We need cyp to lead his staff team and prevent these chaos and hatred between each others. I dont care how long the new server will take to be out but I know that it will be out anytime sooner.

 

Eventually, this will happen to any server, and even game (with the exception of games with big and loyal fanbases or a dedicated development team). What killed this server was that people got bored of it, tired of being unfairly treated and the lack of updates or commitment from the staff team, and when people started leaving, their friends would eventually leave too. It's not fun to play on a server with no people online, where the staff team has a bad reputation and a community slowly but surely falling apart.

I was banned from this server a while back, but it was here I met many of my friends, and that's why I'm still here. Frankly, I am not an optimist nor a pessimist, but rather a realist, and I honestly still have faith in this server. If the promised server will eventually release, with fresh new plugins, it could attract some old players to come back, and with an increasing player amount, new people could get interested.
I didn't want to write too much about this, but it really is a topic I care about. Like Bert said, it will never be like the 2015 Skyblock, but there is potential for the new server to be successful.

 

Every server has bumps whilst it’s going. The server has been up for six years. That’s a really long time. Cyp has managed to keep his composure good and to continue doing fun events and features for the server. Also, you can’t just make a server in a day and it be good. They are still doing testing and adding features.

 

I just hate the fact they stated it’d be out in July, then August, then December, then who knows next year now?

 

Great news guys! THe new server will be out in 2069!!! jk jk but at least the developers r working their butt off for us and for the new server just for us thanks to them and if they didnt work their butt off the new server would of been released like in 2019?? Not really but ye

 

It's common for some moderators to come and go. Not everyone decided that they want this to be a part of their life. Sometimes people find the bad in being a mod rather than the good, other times they are too busy or are burnt out.

As for this, we are trying to keep the community a safe place. We have issues with this sometimes as people will call us biased and inadequate to moderate when we do punish those who are being disrespectful or toxic. Sometimes groups of players will attack mods for this. However, we will continue to strive to keep the place safe and friendly. Free free to make reports on those who are ruining your time on skyblock by being negative.

There is also a struggle for us to get the new server ready and correct so we do not disappoint the player base. We are sorry that it's been so long since it was announced, but we would rather have a working and fun server that people would enjoy and stay with than a broken one that no one likes.

 

We need another admin. We need some leadership. We need someone who listens.

I love this server and I don't want it closing down. They are working their butts off and we should be appreciative. Anyways, don't close it down. It would make me really REALLY sad. And I bought Donor. Keep up the server I don't wanna go into a crying coma

Yes, Skyblock was very different back in 2015. Same as it was different in 2013 and 2012. Everything changes. The new server is coming out for the community, it's so we can all enjoy something new too.

We have so many "Skyblock is dying" threads. It's an old topic. But as long as we're still here it means the server's still alive.
