I know this topic has different opinions. I personally think the server could benefit from having Warp PvP back, this time much more manageable and better. Here are some pros & cons from the last time we had a Warp PvP. Pros: - Gives a secondary use to tools, armor, and other resources. - Gives players an opportunity to continue playing, no more hearing "I'm bored." - Allows another fun activity - Give players another reason to join the server. (Increase in players) - More relationships between players would be made. Cons: - Hackers (SOLVED HERE) - Competition - Possible Fighting Here are some possible solutions to the cons: - Hackers (CLICK HERE) - Competition & Possible Fighting: Simply have staff members moderate the chat, as they normally would. Warp PvP could possibly include: A leader board, based off of kills, a monthly reward for the top killer, it would be cleared. Statistics of players: deaths, kills, etc. More possible ideas to come!
Supports: 2 No supports: 0 Neutral: 0 Add to idea: Warp PvP Rules / other important info: PvPoints Warp PvP could be based off of PvPoints, which are earned by dealing damage to other players and killing them. PvPoints are used to purchase special temporary boosts like regeneration, speed, damage increase, etc. Leaderboard There could be a top kills leaderboard where you could earn prizes every month based off of your placing. It Resets every month to make it fair. If you get 1st place on leaderboard, you get a $10 gift card to shop.skyblock.net, and If you get 1st place on 2nd season, you get a $20 gift certificate, 1st place on 3rd season is a $30 gift certificate. Etc. You must get them in a row. If a player is caught hacking, they will be removed from leaderboard and will be banned from Warp PvP until the next season starts. If they are caught hacking after winning the gift certificate (1st place), they get banned from skyblock. The leaderboard can be viewed with: /pvpleaderboard See a player hacking in the PvP arena? /pvpreport *If added* or report it on forums! -------Special------- There could be a private arena that allows hacks, and where you could play with your friends by doing /privatepvp join <other username> You will then wait in a queue to wait your turn to battle in the arena. This is great and can maybe bring more players back! But only if the thread of hackers you posted is added.
Agreed, support on the basis that suggestion is added, and works 100% without small issues, such as falsely kicking players. Also another pro, the actual build of /warp pvp still exists and pvp is still enabled there, all that needs to be added is the actual warp itself.
Will it be a fair fight? Like each player battling gets the exact same stuff to fight. Or ould you just bring your own stuff? And also would you lose your items when you are killed? Can the other players take the stuff you drop? And if you could bring your own stuff would you be allowed to bring god items?
I think it would be an opportunity to bring your own things, allowing a purpose for diamond armor, etc. Plus it could create a new "economy" in a sense, as people would be trading items, such as diamond amor, healing potions, etc.
Support! We used to have /warp pvp now its gone. I would miss people trying sneak out of the pvp spawn and immediately walk back inside while the other op player tries to attack that player
I'm sure you would have the same items. And no, the warp would have the rule of "keepInventory" set to true, so you would not have to worry about losing items. The basic setup will cover most of your questions. I'd also like you to keep in mind that if this does get accepted, there will be some major thinking before released. In fact, some of these ideas most likely would not be in the final release. There could be something like what babytheo said, where you could bring your own items, but remember, this is still a brainstorm idea. It most likely may not happen. Thank you for your questions. So if the people could bring their own items then they would have different items from what their opponent has. Then it would be unfair.
I believe there are multiple threads on this topic, including one that I made myself. I like the idea of /warp PVP, yet this is a skyblock server and it’d be difficult to moderate all of the people who would be hacking. We could get an anti cheat but then that would affect the legal hacks too. Neutral.
I don’t really want to have to moderate a pvp arena. Also, this is a skyblock server and I think it’s unique without pvp. No support.
