You have no idea what you're talking about, do you?

There is always a chance that players will break a rule again, regardless of whether or not they're sorry. There is no correlation between being apologetic and being likely to break another rule. Staff should not deny appeals for being "not apologetic" or "sincere enough" under any circumstance. Staff can deny an appeal if the player does not have a solid reason for it to be reconsidered, or if the player's reasoning for the appeal to be invalid, but there is no reason to deny the appeal for being insincere.

Appeals aren't necessarily for punishments that are unjust, a player can simply request for their punishment to be reassessed, and are allowed to no matter the situation.

Staff reports are for when staff have explicitly broken a rule which giving a subjectively considered "unjust" ban is not. Hence, making an appeal to review the punishment. Not to mention that staff reports are rarely taken seriously in any situation, let alone on as frivolous as this.

Anyway, if you knew anything at all, you'd know that a staff report should not be deleted at all, unless looked at by someone of a higher authority, in which it would be rejected and locked; not deleted.

    makes their job easier
This thread is obviously directed at a certain number of the staff, so this may not apply to you. However I haven't actively been looking through your appeals.

My point wasn't that sincerity be overlooked, merely that it isn't a requirement to appeal, and that not being sincerely apologetic or empathetic should not result in an automatically denied appeal in which a player's reasoning for the appeal is completely disregarded.

Your way of dealing with appeals seems to be fine (especially considering other players' responses).
Since you rated my thread "dislike" I'd love to hear your view on this, I'm always appreciative to see new opinions.

And to everyone else, please don't flame staff on this thread, I'm only trying to point out problems, and I really don't want to deal with this mess.

I don't like how it comes off as an attack against the mods. I also dislike how you have used examples without covering the staff members identity.

It's not an attack per se, but I do have problems with how the staff handle appeals and there isn't really a better way to put this. And the threads are linked as a reference to my thesis so there wouldn't be purpose in censoring a name when the person could look at the appeal and find it anyway.

Well yeah. If the ban wasn't fair, or if it wasn't valid, then obviously there's no need for the player to feel sorry since there's nothing to be sorry for. But if the player DID break the actual rules and got banned for it then to get unbanned they should feel sorry for their actions , or at least lie about it lmfaoaoo

Jess, i lost my ratings because i gave someone 2 dislike ratings for a legit reason. the reason being i 'disliked' the post. i said id apologize in my last appeal but still the same. i said i'd remove the ratings but still the same. the player who i gave the ratings to had a huge cry to the mod that removed my ratings.

I get your point, but regardless of the situation, being sorry isn't a requirement to appeal, and appeals should not be automatically denied if a player is not sorry. When a player does make a mistake, the are most typically apologetic. However when the staff make the mistake, like in the cases mentioned in the thread, they cannot expect any amount of apology in an appeal.
Yeah, that's a real problem because staff aren't recognizing their mistake and aren't willing to even consider your appeal because you aren't "sorry" enough, despite you not having anything to be "sorry" for.
