Uhm, so I haven't logged in for around a year and a half, I just logged in and it teleported me to spawn. Can I have some answers to why this is happening? Someone in-game mentioned that it's because I have been offline for that amount of time. I have now lost everything because the server thought that I had quit. Thanks in advance! ~Lumiaxoxo
After 6 months of inactivity, your island automatically deletes itself to free up space on the server.
Not actually true. Islands have only ever been purged like that once, and It was manual. There is nowhere that makes island auto delete. Likely what happened to your island was either a bug, you were in a coop, or in that one instance of island purging.
Dankies cx I thought it was something like that. I have heard that others have been gone ages and come back and theirs is still in crisp condition. So I quit around a year and a half or so ago? Would that be the time of this "purge"? I don't mind just that I am kinda upset that I lost a few personal items.
Inactive islands do periodically reset and get reassigned to new players. I don't know about a set timeframe but it is usually many months, can be less than a year. Since I've started playing my East side neighbor has changed twice and my west side neighbor has changed once. This is what causes public warps to randomly disappear and get replaced with new islands once in a while.
