There are a lot of threads with comments that directly break the forum rules, particularly in the mod application section. Mods have posted in some of them, themselves.
Though we can all unsubscribe from any post we wish to, as it is part of a mods' job to watch forums, I suggest they not unsubscribe from threads and at the very least, make sure none of the other comments are against the forum rules in threads that they have posted in.

No support. Mods should be entitled to unsubscribe from threads if we so choose. I don't even get alerts for all the threads I post in regardless if i'm watching them. Plus it won't do much as mods can choose not to read a thread and that is perfectly allowed.

But then you aren't doing your jobs. You are above players here and you need to enforce the rules, and the threads where rules are being violated right alongside mods' comments make you look incompetent, biased or blind.

You need to protect mod applicants from rule-breaking comments.

Mods don't read every comment. That's why the report button exists. For if we miss a comment it can be reported. We have no time to read every single comment posted in a thread because we also have to moderate the server and do reports and appeals, catch people using alts to rate abuse, remove post farming etc etc. If I go and read every reply on a 10 page thread when i wake up I will go insane.

I use the report button a lot, and never get a reply. Not saying it's you who's ignoring the posts, because we are in different timezones. But someone is ignoring my comment reports.

What I do is make sure if I handle a report to select the "send resolution report" so players know the reports been handled. I feel like if that was mandatory for staff to do it would make players report more and feel like they have been answered.

    Hence report button ^~^
If we were to read every comment on every thread posted, none of us can go offline~

Yes but the forums is consistently flooded with comments and posts we can't physically moderate each single thread, comment and all posts. Which is why players help reporting helps a lot.

It does work. But certain reports get rejected for various reasons.

Teeeb, I've just made a suggestion that we get a notification of why a report is rejected, as just like you, I've also found many of the comments I've reported for rules violations are just left there and sometimes doubt it's been seen, as it is an obvious rule that is being broken. If we get a notification for why it was rejected, we'd know it's been seen.

Yeah once I reported someone, not sure who, don't remember; for calling someone something really bad, and it never got removed lmfao, what it was clearly insulting.

Keep reporting the same comment, once a day, till you luck out and get a mod that that does remove it, especially if you are certain it breaks a rule. Some mods are more fair and conscientious than others.

If you keep reporting it after multiple mods reject it, you'd be breaking the forums rule of abusing the report button. If multiple mods reject it, you should get the hint to stop reporting it. If it still bothers you, you are always welcome to pm a mod and discuss it. Also, I like to send alerts to players. It's all up to the mod's preference.

But you wouldn't know if it was the same or different mods rejecting it, as you don't get that info in the notifications. Abusing the report button would mean you are reporting something that doesn't break the rules,
I'd imagine. I have on occasion had a report first denied then accepted, I wasn't aware that you would be considered as abusing the report button for multiple reports on the same comment. But let's take something like player disrespect. If I keep reporting it, I obviously feel someone has been disrespected, but one mod might disagree while another one, doesn't.

If it's rejected more than once, I advise not to report it and take it to pm.

Abusing the report function is continuing to report something after it's been dealt with, resolved, or rejected on more than a couple occasions. Also, reporting a bunch of random things can also be abusing.

Sometimes that happens. More than once is a generalization. It probably won't be considered abuse if you report it twice or even three times.

I know what you're referencing. In that case, multiple mods have rejected something. That is why we advise taking it to private message after multiple rejections.

Yes, but I'm saying, you never know who it is, they never add their name to it, so you wouldn't know who to mail about it.

I have written the two of them. One replied, then dropped the convo, the other hasn't replied yet though they have been on. And I'm telling you, I feel so frustrated as a regular forum member that some mods can get away with saying whatever they want in a disrespectful manner and we, as players, have to simply take it and have no power to have it be corrected. It's not ok, not because it is me, because rude comments by mods foster bad feelings of resentment, and some people would quit over that sort of treatment. Good riddance? Is that it? Take it or leave?
    Not fair, or right.
Even Cyp posted in that thread and did not delete any comments in it. If HE didn't take offence, the mods shouldn't have.
