And players have every right to be publically informed of that. You can't speak for all staff members.

One day there will be a moderator who bans for frivolous reasons without proof. And players won't be able to prove anything was done incorrectly.

This isn't about staff pride, this is about public justice.

    AH HA!!!
Mods have been hiding the evidence all along!
They make us tricked into believing they know EVERYTHING but they don't!
This is all just a set-up by the mods to get more POWER!

If a moderator bans for frivolous reasons without proof, you can bet that the staff team will be on that and said staff member will almost certaintly be demoted.

You don't need it in writing that moderators need proof before they ban people, it's already a requirement of being a moderator.

When did I do that? Don't think I ever did that.
    ——
When was the last time a mod banned someone without a reason—in the rules—simply because they didn't like them or based off of an assumption of rules?

These rules don't include all of the possible rules of Skyblock; but since that's not in writing, it's harder to enforce them. It is already implemented without being written, similar to the common sense and mods can't ban without a reason rule.

If any mod violates banning without a reason, there would be every reason in the world to demote them

I find it amazing that the mods are rejecting this suggestion.
You can talk all well and good, but if you aren't willing to make an unwritten rule, a rule, then obviously something is wrong with that rule. In an actual legal system, unwritten rules don't exist.

Basically, if you say it's an unwritten rule, WHY WON'T YOU MAKE IT WRITTEN?

Actually, they do. Look at the 9th amendment of the US Constitution. It states that not all rights listed in the Constitution are the only rights of the US citizen, meaning that there are unwritten rules elsewhere.

What I'm saying is that unwritten rules do exist; in order for it to exist, the rules about unwritten rules needs to be used, which is why I advocate for that.

Majority of cops don't punish without a reason. They will arrest you with a warrant and justify themselves. Some, however, will abuse that power, and those are usually cops who are fired.
Similarly, majority of mods don't punish without a reason. We will punish you with a reason and justify ourselves with proof that is enough to keep the player banned. Some, however, will abuse that power, and those are usually mods who are demoted.
We'll do it. It's just redundant and pointless. We already abide by that.
You're laying out a situation where it could happen if this player doesn't break rule and a mod does punish. Again I ask:
When has this happened in the past?

I have been punished and treated extremely unfairly by loads of different Mods over the 4 years I have played. Don't even bother saying that.

Just trying to understand, but because they didn't like you or an assumption of a rule?

If you were banned/punished simply because a moderator doesn't like you, you have every right to make a staff report. However it's not going to be taken into consideration unless you follow these guidelines: Staff Report Guidelines | Skyblock Forums. Without following them it will be automatically denied.

Anyways, last time I'm saying this: I highly doubt the staff team would ban you for no reason. It's a requirement and we're not allowed to ban without proof. I also doubt that any of us would risk our position to go out of our way and ban someone without proof or simply because we don't like someone.

We ban people for proper reasons and it's stated in the convo you get when you are banned. If you want to get out of it you can always appeal and the staff will tell you what you were banned for.

Mod's have ignored many written rules and unwritten rules, there isn't a mod who hasn't. Some Mod's, are incapable to comprehend that unwritten rules do exist, meaning that since there isn't a rule saying that Mod's must ban with reason, some Mod's are free to ban whoever whenever.

If you say that all have ignored those rules, how will two rules change that? They learn from mistakes and mentoring, not a rule that is written or not.

Not all Mod's have ignored these 2 rules, but implementing them would solidify the rules by making them a lot more obvious and understanding, and a lot less vague.

    What if this happens?

Then Player A should include in the report the threats, where Player B will be perm banned with no chance of appeal.

First response: EDIT: Part III: In cases where proof cannot be shown directly to the banned player for any reason, and where proof exists, proof shall be put in hidden content and at least 2 unrelated mods must say that proof is sufficient. This can be done in any way, the banned player does not have to see this exchange.

The point is to say that proof exists and is sufficient, even if it can't be shared for some reason.
Sufficient proof is proof that would be able to convince any given player that the other person did in fact break a rule.

That makes sense. You didn't say that originally, which is why I was arguing my point :p
Just a scenario, but what if players call the mods biased even if they're not? Will players react the same way they do with appeals?
You can threaten and harm someone outside of skyblock. Player B will be permbanned on the server, but why make a bigger issue out of something that doesn't need to be done?

Without getting side tracked, Mods need proof for banning. End of.

That's untrue, there have been several instances where myself and other players have been banned for no absolute reason, with no proof of anything. And I've tried to get those staff members demoted: I've made reports, I spoke to other staff, I contacted Cypriot. It hardly ever amounts to anything.
    Sure.
    Gyazo - ac0a75970c0ba0071c46aaaea89f1e94.png
In recent memory, ChibiBerry, Blaq, Myrmwife, and a lot more.
And then I report them, and I get punished for doing so (except my last report on one staff member was actually looked at, and they were demoted. But the point still stands).

The real kicker though, is that those very reports get rejected usually for being frivolous or not having enough proof, but staff never have enough proof for frivolous bans, ergo they don't get demoted.
    ---
The players don't care that the staff have this little prideful system that says "we know what to do." We want that written down. I personally have been banned/punished for rules that don't exist, with no proof whatsoever. This isn't a suggestion for the staff - it's for the players' own assurance - so I don't understand why you [the staff] don't want it implemented. This won't affect you in any way whatsoever, if you already do what it says.

Unless you're actually hiding something, you should stop defending your whiny little behinds.
