Hello Mr. Sarge Louie, I am here to appeal my ban which you have given on the (incorrect) premise that it was inappropriate.

1. Server name (.net / .org ): I was banned on the forums.
2. In-game name: My forum name is Quietus.

4. Did you read the rules ? I have indeed read the rules, multiple times, and in the rules it states that inappropriate content warrants a three day man at most for a repeat offender, which I am not.
5. Why do YOU think you were banned? "Inappropriate" content.
6. Was this an incorrect ban? The length of the ban is definitely incorrect, and the staff were definitely incorrect in assuming the worst of the given situation, seeing as I have not been banned for several months, coming back both as a changed person.
7. Were you ever banned before on SkyBlock? If so, what for? Several things that I will not bother listing. Old enough staff members should be able to recall all my bans.
8. Why do you think you should be unbanned? I believe my ban should at least be shortened due to the nature of the ban, as well as me not deserving this ban as it was not wholly inappropriate. Even though the language taken out of context could be seen as inappropriate, that was not my intent. Regardless, staff members seem to have no problem with the word, owner/administrators included. Furthermore, when other players used the word in question, staff seem to have no problem with it, which could be seen as a biased punishment. I believe this ban is completely undeserved, and should be lifted or at the very least, shortened.

Hello Quietus, thank you for making this appeal more professional and proper. I am Kato and I shall be taking over this appeal, as Sarge is currently indisposed of right now. I would appreciate if you continue this professionalism throughout this appeal, as I believe it would be the best for both of us to keep this civil. Now then, onto the appeal.

Why do you think you were banned and what caused this? While I have read your appeal, I would like it summarized one more time for me to get the story straight.

 

I was banned because someone had supposedly (according to staff, as I would not otherwise know) reported a post of mine, which they may have personally taken offence to.

 

So do you personally believe what you posted was inappropriate and deserved a ban of any length?

 

I personally do not believe I deserved such a long ban. As stated in the forum infraction thread (x), inappropriate content can warrant a 3 day ban at most, with that being for high offences, which I personally do not believe mine was.

Furthermore, the intent of my thread was to be humorous, not inappropriate as one may assume at first glance, using the double intent of some words as a joke.

In addition, players and moderators have never had problems with players using similar or worse language. I was banned simply because someone had taken offence to my post, which was not intended to be offensive. Even so, sensitive players are not the ones who make the rules.

This punishment can be seen as deserved, however I believe that the length is more than needed, and that a mute could have gotten the point across just as much as a ban would have, especially as this was my first offence for something like this in a long while.

While I understand the confusion with the stated amount of time posted by Cyp and the amount given, I will say that past player offenses, moderator discretion, and other factors can play into the ban/mute length and severity. Those are guidelines generally given as a basis for most first offenses, not repeat offenders. Though I will say and agree with while some have said and gotten away with more colorful language than what you stated, I will furthermore comment that I wold be careful from now on regarding what you post and say. While certain individuals might find it funny and entertaining, just as you have found out first hand, others might not. I will finish this appeal off by stating, that while I am going to accept your ban appeal this time, as aforementioned I would dissuade you from using such language and innuendos in the future, unless in the company of people who see your humor, as to not offend, or upset someone in the future. Finally, I will state as I do in everyone of my ban appeals, that if I see you here again for any reason whatsoever I will not hesitate to deny the appeal and extend your ban appeal to a full week at the minimum. I like to see those I accept actually learn from their appeals and I would hate to see you back here. Have a great day and happy crafting.
