In light of the recent hacking of a moderator's account, this is another friendly reminder to please turn on 2FA, as this is not the first time something like this happened.

With the added security of two factor authentication, it makes it much harder for hackers to gain access to your account(s). It is also recommended to change your passwords to something containing both capital and lowercase characters, numbers, and symbols to prevent brute force hacking. Also try to refrain from using things such as words, names, usernames, birthdays, other dates, etc. in your passwords as those are easily able to be guessed.

A guide on how to use 2FA can be found here.

Most importantly use a password that's not easily guessable and use a password manager like LastPass to help remember the non guessable passwords.

Honestly why would they go around banning people. I'd use it for leaking purposes.

It's actually part of the new requirements. Unfortunately, NIH301 was an older staff member who was inactive, and there are still people who decide not to use 2FA.

Two regulr players were hacked too, so it is strongly recommended that you use 2FA.

    Honestly,
Everyone should have 2FA. I know The Moderator was an old one so 2FA wasn't part of the requirements but still cmon... You got to have your account secured.
Thanks for reminding everyone Quietus :)

Keep in mind that if you're applying for mod and don't have 2FA on, your chances are 100% gone. Don't just say you have it without actually having it; you'd be helping us and yourself :p

    I don't use 2FA.

How not to get hacked in 3 easy steps.

    1. Use a unique password for everything.
    2. Don't use LastPass. Just wait until their database gets leaked. GG.
    3. Don't share accounts.

For more safety add 2FA to your accounts, because you never know if your password is secret.

I smash my face against my keyboard. That's my password. Enjoy guessing that.

Kinda goes with sean. I don't usually remember my passwords. It takes me a couple of tries if I try to log on from a different computer xD or I just reset my password flatout. #ShortTermMemoryOP
