Dear administrators and players, as you have probably been noticing the value of diamonds is falling dramatically. Therefore, the value of "rares" is getting messed up too. Now, for the book: There is no "official" value of an item, it's what the buyer wants to pay. Skyblock is not an economy server (Krissy), but players created a massive economy because they like it and it's probably need it too. But if that gets out of hand the entire server could be damaged. On the server the community set value of one diamond is 20-22 grass. Problem? People won't want to go away from the cheap prices. This will make all items cheaper. Cheaper items = people get stuff easier. And getting stuff easier shortens the playtime a player has on the server before they get bored, or even donate. Seems far fetched. But it's not. So, what do the administrators do to stop the value dropping to 15 or lower? I remind you, at the server start you'd pay several stacks of grass, throughout the lifetime 64, now 20. Well, you could quietly take in diamonds. But that is not easy to do on a minecraft server. You could reset the server? Nope, a lot of people would be angry. What you could possibly do is get another item for diamonds. As far as I'm concerned grass is doing OK now, although it could be doing better being affected by the diamond value. You could make diamonds worth way more, making (for example only) gold the new diamonds. Hard to do, eh? Eitherway, there are more and more diamonds being added to the server daily which is not good for the server's lifespan and economic state. Here is a really good spreadsheet linked on page 2 of the comment section (by Myrmidous ), explaining the value of certain items to various groups of people by /kits and voteparties. What do we do? Dicussion thread this is. (Default) Hello there, thank you for reading my post. Before you leave feedback or rate this, please read through the entire comment section. I encourage you to write a post about your view on the post and not leave a simple rating. Thank you.
I paid 20 grass for my first diamond back in Summer, I don't think it's changed much. But yes, I'd love to see gold in the economy!
It'll stabilize at some point when there's a stable amount of 100 donors and skygods is proportional to everyone else. And tbh
It is what it is, the server has been around for around 3 years or more. People save items, that cannot be helped. The only real way to fixing this would be a whole server reset, which won't happen.
We don't have to do anything. Net is not an economy server and people can trade at whatever prices they want. It is not an issue in the slightest
You can't really help this, the same thing is happening in the US today, it comes down to more diamonds, (currency) being added to the game, causing the value to drop. In turn, the value of rares will most likely increase. Sorry to say, but this can't really be fixed without a reset, which will not happen. To be honest I do not think this issue needs to be fixed, as time will naturally balance the prices out again.
Whilst there is a way to remove diamonds from the economy e.g. /warp donor, the prices of diamonds will continue to fall up to the point where people feel diamonds aren't really worth selling and end up using more diamonds then they are getting, thus decreasing the amount of diamonds in the economy and increasing the demand for diamonds. This will therefore increase the diamond's value and diamond prices will rise again. Just wait and in due time the economy will be "back in shape" so to say. The only way I could see the process being made any quicker would be to bring a larger range of items for donors to buy from /warp donor. Doing something like this would give donors more of a reason to use up their diamonds. Possibly things like exclusive sales for items in order to appeal to the donors, allowing for bursts of diamonds being removed from the economy. Just my opinion...
I'll be honest, there isn't much diamonds can be spent on while consuming the entity itself. I feel clear lag could eat some if you guys don't want them.
The prices are fine as it is. The admins should NOT mess with the economy. There is nothing wrong with cheap diamonds.
