Hello, My name is DustAndRust. Today I was attempting to upgrade my alt (EvanLego) with an American Express prepaid gift card. The card was not accepted. Is there any way I could upgrade my alt without using a credit card, debt card, or a pay pal account? Thanks!

 

Are you sure your prepaid gift card has enough money in it?

 

Hey Evan. Did you select to check out with PayPal, then just select to use PayPal without an account (since your under 18)? If you entered all the information right it should work. Since PayPal accepts prepaid cards unless they are associated with a fraudulent account. What's the error message you get?

Well that could be your issue right there. I haven't bought anything from skyblock, but when I bought ranks on other servers there were fees associated with PayPal and other taxes. So you have to have more than the "exact amount".

 

I might try using two cards then. Each with 25 so I could make one donor 10 and then use the other one to upgrade my alt to donor25, leaving money on the card.

 

Yea that'd work most likely. Just a heads up though, you can't transfer funds off of prepaid cards unless they are the refillable ones.

 

how could I figure out if its reloadable/refillable? Should it say somewhere on the card?

 

I created a PayPal account as a business, because I do run my own business. I'm only 15, I think you're old enough

 

Legally you have to be 18, I'm 13, theres a 5 year age difference.

 

When I get on my computer later tonight, I'll fully check what I did

 

It's a gift card so it's not refillable. Refillable cards require you to fill out paperwork

You have to be 18 or older, and if PayPal finds out that you aren't they freeze your funds unless you can proof that you're older than 18. So essentially they get all your money. Also if your account balance goes above $1000 it automatically freezes and requires you to provide a social security number proving you are older than 18.

Huh? Yeah you can use the gift cards through buycraft just without a paypal account. I'm just saying you're going to end up with weird balances on both of the cards and you can't move funds between the cards.

 

It won't allow me to use the gift cards though.
