First of all, this thread is supposed to be a rant. A rant about the functionality of forum staff members and the reasons they punish people for. Let's get straight to the topic. On February 24th, .NET full moderator Lemonade has punished me for having an offensive signature. The signature portrayed little girl Anne and Third Reich's fuhrer Adolf Hitler, who kindly gave a precious creature an advice to concentrate more on her homework in order to solve the mathematical problem. Majority of forum users found it amusing and peaceful, however, the image was noticed by the moderator Lemonade. He insisted me to remove signature under 16 hours, what I refused to do as I wanted more details on why such signature was offensive. As a result, I got banned for a week. This may seem like I'm unsatisfied by Lemonade doing his job, but in fact, I'm unsatisfied by the principles of entire staff team and it members in general. Forums have seen lots of rants on this topic and they concerned not only the forums, but also the server. Staff members sometimes do not understand what they are doing and as a result innocent players have to suffer from the actions of staff team. Why does this occur? The answer is simple - every staff member has it own principles and standards of punishing. For example, when I still played on the server and acted racist during the online time of various moderators, different staff members acted never the same; SugarCane only kicked/muted me for such behaviour, while robloxianroblox or Lemonade gave me a tempban or ban. I won't try to get Lemonade demoted. I can't say he doesn't do his job well, but at least he does it and that's the most important thing. The point is this thread is that I want some super moderator to create rules/regulations for staff members on the server/forums in order to make them understand better how the server rules work. The title of this thread is "double standards". Why? Because moderators treat every player differently. A donor, who accidentally advertised server in chat will only get tempban, while an unknown greenbean will get a full ban. Some people on forums have really disrespectful or inappropriate images and they do not get any punishment, while users like me get a full tempban. This is all double standards and I believe this issue should be solved. What can be done to solve to solve this problems? There are a few methods: 1) Create rules for server moderators that will determine actions of staff. 2) Choose what server you, players, want to see (Change server rules in general). Talking about the second decision, I created a poll, which you will see below. Simply choose what community you want to see: family friendly (PG) or not family friendly (non-PG). Straw Poll kthxbai
The server will never be more then G-Rated. Why? Because of rule number five. It states that there are ages between 5 and 50 years old, possibly higher, but still, there are young players on the server and we don't want them to see such foul language or actions. I guess you can say all of this can follow under the common sense rule. As a very popular server, having the title "G-Rated" allows us to keep players on the server and parents happy. Last thing we need is an unhappy parent. Point is there will never be a change in the servers rating system. *Rule 5: Do not disrespect others (or server)/swear Offence Level: Depends No one likes disrespect, and few people tolerate it. This server is played by people between 5 and 50, and we do not want young kids seeing and using swears, 4th grade is low enough! Think I am crazy about this? A number of players (case in point was Gigantic_Man) are banned for disrespecting. Kids get banned almost every day for server hate as well. *Rule 15: Use Common Sense Offence Level: Variable There are a number of things that fall under this rule. If it's illegal in the real world (country/international laws, breaking Mojang ToS/EULA) then it falls under this rule. If you think that it may be wrong, but it doesn't quite fall under any of the other rules, it may qualify here.
There is an unwritten rule which Noobcrew stated saying that donor's get lighter punishments than non-donors/greenies. Its the fact they've paid money (or the account has got money at least) so therefore their punishments are less harsh. If I agree with that statement or not isn't really the case but that is what I've known since I've joined skyblock at least.
Doesn't invalidate it, as the overwhelming majority of donors got their ranks from paying for it/having someone else pay for it.
The double standard would rest on the moderator not the team. However I do get what you mean. And at times I agree; the team is not always on the same page. Personal morals sometimes affect the way we moderate and punish. We do have boundaries that we try to stick between to ensure fairer punishments. I know the one way that we can get all punishments fairer but it will take a bit of work to do. Ideally the server I would like to see is not the kind a parent would allow their kids on. But since the server had been G-PG for so long I think changing it now will really damage it. If anyone is unhappy with the way things are done they are not being forced to stay. They can leave if they so choose. Out there probably lies a server that allows almost anything offensive and where kids would be told to stay away from by parents. Change may come. You never know.

I'm not going to lie about this, period, I think you deserve some truth without it being covered in sweetened words. I found your signature funny when I was asked to remove it, but that’s because my humour is questionable at best. When I removed your signature, I removed it simply because it was offensive, even I could see how it was offensive. I didn’t expect you to be banned over it seeing as it was handled, by me when I was asked only to remove it and not punish you.
See, the point is that the only one who found that signature offensive offensive was Lemonade. As ImBasicallyJesus correctly said "It's not inappropriate if it didn't offend anyone, not including salty people and artificially flavored drinks.".
Okay, the donors did pay the money and I can see your point. But it doesn't mean that they should get less harsh punishment than any other players. Rephrasing your reply, I can say that donating is just the same as buying an unban (ex: Stel) and it is not quite normal for a big minecraft server.
You can get a donator rank simply by becoming a month's top voter. It's not such a task, just remember to vote twice every day and you'll get $25 coupon to spend on any of the network's server (.NET, .ORG, skywars).
Lemonade's standards are obviously clouded by his own ignorant judgment. This isn't the first time he punished someone when he had no proof anyone was offended by what he calls "offensive content."
I think the issue here is just the fact that it's Adolf. Kinda like using his quotes. I'm not saying who's right or wrong here, but I'll give you why I think this happened. Hitler, Nazi Germany, etc. people get offended just looking at him. Personally, I don't. But some do. So whatever represents him, is something people dislike. Hitler doesn't bother me, but maybe someone had made a complaint. Maybe you did need that further information on why the ban happened, and why it needed to be taken down. But, the point is, it was Hitler. Most people see him as bad, so naturally people don't like him. I don't feel you need a History lesson on it, just merely what I've gathered from this post.
