It will be updated to 1.9 when all the plugins + spigot the server(s) use updated to 1.9. Until then it won't be updating.

 

And it will take a few months to update to 1.9

 

Yeah, normally the server updates partially, to where like players on 1.9 can join, but right now that's not the case. It will take time.

 

It took a very, very, long time to update to 1.8. Don't expect this server updating to 1.9 anytime soon. ;p

 

But But i seen another two servers are quick updated to compatible 1.8 + 1.9 with outdated plugins

 

This is irrelevant to Skyblock. This is mojang's choice of if they want to make them compatible or not, not Cyp's choice

I think you're talking about Protocol Hack.

We will try to update Skyblock soon so you can use 1.9 client to play but no new features will be added yet.

 

This single statement was stupid enough to have be sigh deeply during class and my teacher heard me from the far corner of the classroom. I don't suppose you even understand the suggestion. The OP is suggesting that we edit the bukkit (or whatever we use) so that people using 1.9 clients can join skyblock as a 1.8 server. Mojang/Microsoft have nothing to do with this scenario.

 

Elytra should be disabled or illegal due to a 400 donor (Skygod) creative mode and elytra give to the greenies fly and cheat at parkours and fly into another islands then kill mobs and destory crops also ruined the command /fly if people many use more elytra than /fly and Shields are okay it's like blocking sword in 1.8

 

I think you misunderstood. Lol.

Player is asking for a protocol hack (as cyp calls it). Basically, a player using 1.9 will be able to play, but the server will still be running on 1.8 (no new features). This is something we've done in the past so that players using the most recent version can play without downgrading.

 

Cyp was already going to do this anyway, but support. It will probably take a few months.

So, most people dont know this, but Elytras arnt meant for flying, but for gliding only. It may seem like its flying but its not.
