Would you rather be living under Hitler or Hirohito? Would you rather little kids and defenseless minorities die instead? Be thankful they did so

Oh yeah, I'm very thankful they did so. That doesn't mean it was a better time. It's honestly pretty hilarious that you're putting a time of war up on a pedestal and saying that it was better than the present, one of the most peaceful times the world has ever seen. The reason a bunch of 18 year olds aren't off charging into certain death is because they don't have to. Any human being with a shred of empathy and common sense could understand that just as many 18 year olds in the present day would go off and defend the country just like they did in the WWII era.

Here's a thought. Maybe people in 1944 were affected by words just as much as they are now, but they had to hide it because the stereotype that men are supposed to be strong emotionless fighters was exponentially more prevalent. People are so much more open about their feelings today because it's more socially acceptable and you won't be labeled a big pansy because you have feelings. Are you only allowed to have emotions if you've gone to war?

    You're a dying breed. It's 2016.

All im thinking to be perfectly honest is how one can compare two completely different time periods, lifestyles and ideals to prove a point. Are we young people in the same position as those people in 1944? No. We have different lives and with that comes different problems.

That picture serves to stereotype to try and make "emo" styles seem like weak and pathetic attention seeking whiners who have no concept of what real fighting is.

The point is lost, I will go back to not caring.

Well, only if you're on a list of people that shouldn't be insulted. Gay? Awh, there there. Woman? Oh, you poor thing, those nasty men have been complimenting you too much lately. Homosexual male who is comfortable with who they are? Grow some balls and stop being a sissy.

The point of this thread was to tell people to get some thicker skin and realize how pathetic you sound when you complain about getting bullied or whatever
