Ever since I joined the forums, in off-topic and discussion, all grave digs were illegal. Now if they're "related to the topic" it's legal. Since when has this rule changed? Also, I'd like opinions about it
I usually let other mods deal with grave digs, just because I feel my opinion about them is not totally determined completely. I don't know if the rule has changed, or if mods are just using what they think is best? I'm just thinking off the back of my head here.
I think as long as the post is relevant then it should be fine. The previous posts should also be relevant to the current situation. It's a bit silly to rule out pages and pages of relevant discussion on a subject just because it's a bit old.
I believe it is 30 days in discussion. Off topic can be bumped whenever. I usually dont give a edited about the old threads bc i have learned my lesson with all the mutes and edited
Yes we have re done the way we handle people posting in old threads. If the thread is over 30 days old but the person that bumps it adds something relevant it will not be removed. Gravedigging is the act of bumping a thread where the new information is suitable to be its own thread (such as bumping a thread asking another question unrelated to the topic) or the new information is irrelevant to the main post. Of course one month is the standard time
No. Because you are only allowed 1 intro you may reply to it even if the last reply was more than a month ago.
Yes, this confuses me. I knew gravedigs weren't allowed, but I heard people say that if it's in the off topic section then it's okay. In the forum games section, I saw a thread that was a bit old, but I commented on it, and I got a pm warning. So if someone can clear this up, then that would be great.
Thought it was always like that, at least on most forums it is. Relevancy makes it okay, if its just to bump a really old thread then its a gravedig.
