Hey guys, today marks the 7th year anniversary of the Skyblock map. I know we have a lot of anniversaries, but this one is really important too!
September 4th 2011, is when the actual downloadable map that started it all was first released. Crazy to think such a simple thing made so long ago was downloaded at least 5 million+ times (as of 3 years ago :O) and is extremely popular across the Minecraft community still even to this day. Even if its in different versions & forms. No one else really knows this, but 'Skyblock' was actually called 'Skycube' at first and I decided to change it to 'Skyblock' last minute while I was posting the original thread on the Minecraft Forums (link). The original Skyblock was a 3x3 grass cube and I thought it resembled some sort of rubix cube, which is where 'Skycube' came from and I named it that at first. Though it also looked like a big...

- Updated island MOTD messages to have a prefix to prevent them from being used for fake messages

- Fixed a bug that was preventing the Anvil setting from being displayed on the /settings menu
- Fixed a bug that was preventing operators from toggling maintenance mode correctly
- We put the server into maintenance mode when testing major updates so players can't make changes to the world in case we need to restore from backup
- Unfortunately this bug fix caused the server to inadvertently start up in maintenance mode, due to an incorrect configuration setting which has now been fixed
- Sorry for the trouble, we will monitor tomorrow's server restart to make sure the problem does not recur

- Fixed a bug that was preventing some players from using public chat in the nether
- Major overhaul of our custom Skyblock plugin and server configurations to add better version support
- Players using Minecraft 1.13.1 can now log on to both /classic and /skyblock servers
- This is just a protocol support fix, the /classic and /skyblock servers are still running version 1.8.8 and 1.12.2, respectively
- We recommend players connect to /classic using Minecraft 1.8.8 - 1.12.2 and to /skyblock using Minecraft 1.12.2 for optimal functionality
- Graphical menus now display appropriate blocks depending on the client version you are using
- This allows us to use newer blocks such as glazed terracotta in menus for players on 1.12+ clients, while still allowing us to present suitable blocks in menus shown to players using older clients
- Players using Minecraft 1.13.1 can now log on to both /classic and /skyblock servers
