Trading

I'm wondering theres no trade tutorial in this forum section...

I'm a noob so please excuse if I'm wrong.

I set up my trade shop and I'm not sure it's working. Although I wrote on my signs for instance:
[Trade]
32 Oak Wood
1 Grass
derf128

it shows only
[Private]
derf128

So I don't know if I missed something. Island is unlocked so please check I'd really appreciate

Moved to the correct section-
I think the solution to your problem is instead of placing the sign on the chest, try placing it on top of the chest. That way the trade shop will recognize it as a trade shop sign, in opposed to you trying to private/lock the chest.

 

Fact, the sign has to be ON TOP of the chest, not on it's front. Thanks for that!

EDIT: got another question. A visitor spawned on my island far from the spawn point. Is the spawn for visitors different from mine?

 

The spawn for visitors and yours is indeed not different currently. It was more than likely a donor that used /back to return to the spot that the player was last logged.

 

In fact all visitors are spawning UNDER my bedrock, whereas I am always spawning on the TOPMOST block above my bedrock. This is weird, but since I know it now, I can adapt my island.

 

Try placing a block above the bedrock, that seemed to fix the same problem a friend of mine had in the past.

 

I had three blocks above

 

Were they translucent/transparent blocks, or were they solid blocks?
