Why should you be unbanned/unmuted? I spoke off-topic in one of the trading channels, got warned and stopped. ~6 hours later, a new punishment system was announced, and I was given the NEW punishment that was announced AFTER I was warned. I agree that I broke one of the rules (speaking off-topic in trading channel) and I accept the warning (which I complied to). However, I believe it is extremely unfair that I was given a new punishment that was introduced after I complied with the warnings. Therefore, I do not believe being banned from the channels was correct nor fair.

If my appeal is denied, then why are other players that have spoken off-topic in trading channels not being treated the same as I am?

I’d like to address a few of your questions/concerns before I start this appeal.

This punishment is not new, it has been around for a while due to past abuse of the trade channels. The announcement was only made due to the fact there have been quite a handful of players abusing the channels lately and ignoring our verbal warnings.

You might of stopped after your last warning, but you did receive multiple verbal warnings from me & Oak. Even after these warnings were sent, you had continued to chat in the channels and ignored our warnings.

Players who have repeatedly abused the channels are also receiving this punishment as well, but your appeal is not the place to try to get others punished. If you see people abusing the channels, please report them to me, or any other of our discord staff so they can be punished accordingly.

Now that I’ve addressed those points, I’d like to ask, why did you continuously chat in these channels? I know you saw our warnings, as you had actually reacted to a few of them. I would also like to point out that your reason for sending your long mapart ad frequently was because of the messages being pushed back when other people talked. I had asked you to shorten it a little bit, which you did, but wouldn’t you talking push back your ad?

 

Thank you for the clarification, I was not aware of the punishment's existence before it was announced.
From what I can recall, I spoke only off-topic in response or addition to another player. Even so, they were small messages, only lasting one or two messages. Therefore, I thought they wouldn't significantly impact the channel topic.
And yes, me talking would've pushed my ad back, which I have not considered.

 

While you were not the worse offender, you still did talk in these channels. It still was against the rules, and you did get verbal warnings. Even if other players are talking, you shouldn’t. Just because one person breaks the rule doesn’t mean that everyone else should.

If you were to have the trade ban removed, how can we assure you won’t do it again?

 

Since I'm now more aware and familiar with the consequences of talking off-topic in the trading channels, I will be more careful next time.

I’m pretty sure we’re going to remove your trade ban under one condition: that if you send off topic messages in the trading channels again, no matter how small, that you’ll receive the role with little to no chance of appeal. Does this sound fair?
