Before I begin, I would like to say that I understand completely that moderators DO NEED to take a break whenever they are moderating on any of the sky-block servers. I respect them, and they are probably one of the most experienced staff members that I know on ANY Minecraft server. But I have one thing that I don't quite understand... and might never will be.... the AFK button. At first glance at ANY Skyblock server, if you play enough, whenever you play with a moderator on, you will notice everything is quiet. There are a few incidents of spamming (right off the bat, the moderators ban them), few incidents with greifing, and all is well with the world.... until... the moderator... goes OFFLINE. I swear, If I had the time, I would create a parody of "The Purge" and hire a bunch of actors, and demonstrate how hectic and chaotic Skyblock can be. Suddenly, its like crime rates multiply x10, and then we get a bunch of spam saying to "join my server", people begin cussing becuase they can, and suddenly, by "incident" there are like 5 people saying there getting greifed. So if it were up to me, I would add a preset command that will automatically turn off the AFK button after a certain number of minutes. Maybe whenever someone is getting greifed and begin /MSG you, the moderators can have a little Inbox so when done taking a break, they can easily see what happened. Pyro912
Sometimes, moderators go AFK because they really need to go away from the keyboard but they will be back in a few minutes or so. Sometimes, moderators go AFK because they need to focus their attention on one issue and but their efficiency is hindered by a bunch of people spamming them with messages and questions. Sometimes, moderators go AFK because they need to take care of something on the forums for a bit before returning to their in-game activity. There are many other reaons why the AFK button is helpful at times, even if you may not understand it fully.
Well, the thing is if a mod is afk and using /afk for a certain amount of time the server will automatically kick them.
Uh you do realise that turning off afk wont make us not be afk? No support sorry, there is no problem with afk and people need to learn to use the forums and report if there are no mods available or the cannot contact a mod, and also let us know if a mod is purposely ignoring people.
Well, maybe off topic, but I think perhaps there should be no global broadcast for afk, or at least the option to not have it. I like afk because it tells the person who has messaged you that you may not be able to respond, but it's almost telling the server that they don't have to worry, this mod isn't watching, if that makes sense. Also I just don't like drawing attention to my afk or unafking really. Anyway, not sure what your idea is, by saying we should turn our AFK off after a certain amount of time. As Krissy said, we'd still be afk, we wouldn't magically teleport back to our keyboards.
Hmm. If there is a problem, and a Mod is AFK or offline, the forums is your friend. Mods might really need to go AFK.. or offline, so my best reply for this, is for the reporter to report on the forums(If the Mod isn't available ofcourse).
