There are 9 saxophones in the saxophone family.

Soprillo/Sopranissimo saxophone: Highest and smallest saxophone, pitched in Bb.
Sopranino saxophone: Second smallest and second highest sax, pitched in Eb.
Soprano sax: Kenny G plays this saxophone, usually. He also plays alto and tenor. Soprano is in Bb, and is a lot like the clarinet.
Alto sax: The most common saxophone used. Pitched in the key of Eb, and is slightly heavier than the clarinet. as people get older they probably won't need the neck strap, I know an eighth grader who plays the alto sax in my school's jazz ensemble (bari sax in wind ensemble) and he doesn't wear the neck strap on his alto.
Tenor sax: Lower than the alto sax, pitched in Bb. I am going to play this saxophone for jazz.
Bari sax: Lowest saxophone most commonly encountered. Pitched in the key of Eb.
Bass sax: Pitched in Bb. This sax is hard to find.
    Contrabass sax: Pitched in Eb.
    Subcontrabass sax: Pitched in Bb.
