Although I love this server and it's the only one I actually come on to. Sometimes people can annoy and frustrate me so much. This is what happened 2 days ago on skyblock.net It was a great day. I was placing blocks of wood to finish a wooden storehouse when a kid comes online and says "what is this? Is this a server for 12 year olds?" I replied "No are you 12?" He said (not using /r) "No" I replied "So are you 9?" Then he announced "Just because you're a donor doesn't mean you have more rights than everyone else" and "I don't think your parents appreciate you wasting their money" Now at this point I'm not sure why, but I started getting angry. He can't talk about me wasting my parents money getting donor? I worked for my donor by going to work. I have to cycle 3 miles, work for 2 hours and cycle back. I don't think I wasted my parents' money. I responded by saying I work for my own money and "I bet you're one of those spoilt kids that get everything paid for and gets pocket money" He told me to look up Spoiled in the dictionary when I'm pretty sure that his English is 2 times worse than mine. This argument went on for a little longer before dying out. But it doesn't mean that I don't care any more. This incident has made me realise that I really dislike immature people like that. When I was 9 I used to play a game called Grepolis. Everyone thought I was an adult/mature teenager because everyone else around my age were immature kids that don't know how to spell or use simple grammar. I don't mind if you disagree with this post but it's just that if feel this world of kids are starting to get incredibly immature. If you disagree I'm not offended it's just you and I have separate opinions. Thanks for reading my rant.
Firstly You shouldn't of asked 'Are you 12?' Or 'Are you 9' Along with that (If i'm correct) You saying 'I bet you are one of those spoilt kids that get everything paid for and get pocket money' Made you sound rude, i'm going to add to that you saying that his English is two times worse than you also made you sound rude. What you COULD of done is sorted it out the easier way and ignored him, and let him be the immature one that he is. However, I understand your rant and I am able to agree with it 50%
Yes I do agree that I was being immature and rude to a certain extent. It's times where I get angry that I end up saying hurtful things. I just don't like people that judge the server and say it's for 12 year olds. Anyway thanks
I hate when people do this, but now no one can really upset me, and I just make a joke out of it and then they end up laughing eventually. The other day, I was on a pvp server, and this guy kept saying a whole bunch of rude things to players, and then it came to a point where everyone would kill him instead of other players xD.
I tend to just reply to people with 'lol' or something when they try to make me mad. ;p Ignore people who are rude to you, usually it's just trolls. x3 However, try not to be rude back, just try to be the bigger man. ^>^
Kill them with kindness. Try to defend yourself at first. If it's obvious it isn't just a misunderstanding or something along those lines, just say lol, as sala said or something similar, like you don't care. It's kinda like real life bullying, bullies want a reaction, if you deny them what they want, they stop. I would say in this case some of the things you said made it worse. Mostly just ignore people
The biggest kick that this kid gets is knowing that he's living in your head, completely rent free. Don't let him do that, just move on and think positive thoughts!
Bubble bursting time. Unfortunately, it doesn't go away. People get older, but they all range in maturity. You'll come across them your whole life... yes online, but you'll also meet them in lines at stores, at events, you'll be working with them, and don't even get me started about the immature and impatient drivers. -.- Yes, sometimes people can be very frustrating. Take a deep breath, smile and either handle them with unbiased, calm comments, or just ignore them altogether. Also, it helps to step back and imagine that maybe they're just having a bad day or there's some deep personal reason for their actions that you just don't know about. They are people after all, and we all have our faults. Oh, but if you're really irritated over a topic, just open up WordPad or something, and rant out all your feelings, then delete it. I do it all the time. XD It helps me at least, to just have gotten them out there, even if just for the brief moment, and even if I was still the only one to read them. Also, don't focus on the negative. Instead of attaching your day to this incident, pick a time in the day where you helped someone, or had a nice conversation with someone, and focus on that memory. It's easy to get stuck on the negatives, but so much more rewarding to embrace the positives. Plus, we all know it's not a server for 12 year olds. We've got a large age range here. And knowing that you earned the money to donate, you can hold your head high, no matter what other people want to believe.
I like to push them out of existence in my own little world and never think about them again; just like I do with most things I dislike. Like not being able to have extra fries with my nuggets. But yeah; I would of had trouble keeping my anger in during a situation like this.
True ;-; I remember once a kid message me saying "You a bad mod for not responding to me" When I did respond "Busy" during a 35 spam bot attack :/and I was the only mod
