Rule book

I have a suggestion that could could help less bans on new players. When new players join the sever they do not know the rules and do illegal things like bridge and grief then they get banned for not knowing the rules then unbanned I think a good idea would be to add a rule book with a list of rules the the chest when you start a island (i don't know how hard that would be to do) so good players would not do them and lead to less bans.

 

This could actually be useful

 

There used to be a villager at /warp spawn selling a 'HowTo' book - not sure where it went.

Yeah, there used to be a sign at spawn and when you clicked it, it gave you an inventory of rule books

 

I made an updated book, if Mods want it, feel free to Msg me. If possible, leave me a copy so I can edit it in the future!

I love the idea. They should do it on both servers. I do have one suggestion though, what if they put it in their hotbar when then join. Does anyone like that idea?

 

if its in there hot bar when they join then they make a island right away they will lose the book. Isn't your inventory wiped when you start a island?

 

Oh thats true. Although they can program it so they don't lose it. On my server we have the same thing but we programmed it so they don't lose the world book. It will take some work but it can be done .

There is a free rulebook... /rules ... To add a book to the starter chest would not be as easy as it looks in my opinion. And that would end up being another thing we cant trade. But there could be something in place that doesn't let you do /newisland until you do /rules or something of that nature. I know most would think adding the book would make it easier to have the rules on hand, but its already made easy so its not going to change too much, in my opinion.

 

And yes there was a couple rule/help books that where sold

 

It says "You do not have access to that command." when I do /rules

It shouldn't be too hard to add the rulebook to a kit, or to give the item to someone who does /newisland (which already has functionality built in for clearing inventories)

Yes this idea would be the easier fix. Not sure why /rules stop working on net works fine on hellblock.

 

Good Idea, but sometimes, if you put a rule book in the chest, sometimes, it goes into the void, if not, it goes into lava, if not that, it is getting read, but it's always their choice to where it goes to, their eyes, sacrificial or fed to the void. I would try putting a message of rules when you do /newisland instead, but a great idea! I also have a Nero_Destruction and Computterton Rulebooks
