I was just playing the game like normal and then some bats came and took all of my dirt and sand and then I was banned for island farming. what is this about?

1. I read the rules like 5 years ago when I started playing

Hello ohSNAPCAKES, thank you for taking the time to create an appeal.

As you have stated in your appeal, you were banned for island farming approximately four hundred dirt blocks, as well as some sand. There was also quite a bit of suspicious activity on your island involving the transferring of lava buckets.

Upon further investigation of your island, our logs showed that you had broken multiple blocks of both dirt and sand, while placing a significantly lower amount of these items.

As shown below, you have broken almost 800 blocks of dirt on your island, while only placing around 350. You have also broken 75 blocks of sand, while only placing 53.



I fail to see how to explain this, without coming to the conclusion that your account was used to island farm or was somehow involved in illegal trading. The latter is highly unlikely, as we found all of the illegal items in your chest, and there were only two other players that had edited your island in any way. They did not appear to be involved in this situation in any way. There is an obvious, and rather large, gap between the amount of blocks that have been destroyed and created on your island.




I would also like to call attention to this screenshot, which shows the locations of blocks that were destroyed on your island. I had limited this search to only dirt and sand, as everything else is irrelevant. Unfortunately, this does not show the exact amount of blocks that were broken in any specific location, it just shows where they were edited; however, all of your edits are centered around the area that a starter island would spawn, if you were to replace your island. I have also logged each of the individual blocks around your spawn, and there were multiple locations that brought up logs of you destroying large amounts of dirt, without any obvious evidence of you placing it there first. Restarting an island is the only method through which you can spawn in illegal materials, without it being shown on the logs.



As shown in this screenshot, there were six blocks of dirt destroyed at this specific location. I do not understand how the dirt could have gotten there in the first place, for you to break, if you had not restarted your island because every player change is recorded. There is no way that it could have been placed here by a player. Keep in mind, this is just one example; most of the other blocks near the center of your island also had very similar logs.

If you would like to be given another chance, I would like you to explain this situation to me, from your perspective, as well as answer the following questions.

• How can you explain the fact that you have destroyed around four hundred more blocks of dirt than you have placed?
• If you did not island farm, why were you talking about how easy it was to island farm and transfer illegal materials in public chat, just minutes before your ban?
• Why were there approximately 350 blocks of dirt placed in a chest in an obscure location, under your island on a cobblestone platform?
• How did you obtain this amount of dirt?
• Is there any other information that you feel is necessary to add?

 

this dirt is put in my chests when I type /trust and some friends leave it there for something, I also help friends to collect all the dirt of their islands and not lose it but the last time I farmed for dirt was on the old server years ago

in the chat I was just saying that like 5 years ago when I played, it was easy to trade dirt and sand get by island farming

is it illegal to mine dirt on an island of a friend and have it in my inventory then it should not be possible to mine the dirt

in this month I have reset the island a lot and start over. the first thing I always do when I start is collect all of the dirt and create a cobblestone platform to build on. then I had joined another island for a while and reset my own and then again about 3 days ago I reset my island with my friend who I invited to my coop

 

Just for clarification, your friends placed the dirt in the chests on your island, correct? The 350-ish dirt that was found, was placed there by friends of yours who were simply moving islands, if I am understanding this correctly.

 

no not specifically this dirt was in chests and placed on my island earlir tody I mined all my dirt and collected it and placed it all in the chest down there
some of it I had left in my inventory when I was mining my friends islands when they started and forgot to put it in the chests

 

If you were just helping a friend get rid of dirt, how did you end up with over three hundred blocks of it? Each island only starts with 77 blocks of dirt - a little less than one quarter of the amount of dirt that was found in your chests. Regardless of your reasoning, transferring illegal items from one account to another, or restarting your island for the sole purpose of gaining dirt, sand, or buckets, is illegal.

Would you please tell me the username of the player that allowed you to remove the dirt from their island?

Could you please also explain why the amount of illegal items found in your chests was nearly identical to the amount that was island farmed?

 

ihave dirt that was in an end chest before, I mined all the dirt on 3 friends island and my own. and I had lava that I get by placing obsidian and then tapping the bucket of it

If this dirt found in your chests was obtained by taking dirt from islands belonging to your friends, that is still illegal. You made it obvious in chat that you knew the items were illegal to trade. Knowing this, why would you keep these items? I would also like to ask how you are able to explain the gap between the amount of blocks that you had placed and broken, if the dirt found on your island did not come from your island. Where did those materials go, and why is there a four hundred block gap?

When the ban is over, your island will be the same as it was before. This ban is only to temporarily remove you from the server until this issue is sorted out. Nothing will happen to your island, aside from the illegal materials being removed.

 

alright so all you do is take away my dirt and sand I guess that's fine

I did know dirt trades and island farming is illegal but I did not know that with permission from the owner it is illegal to mine the dirt they have on their island and take that home

I do not understand what you mean by 'gap'

are you saying that since the last time I restarted my island I have broken 800 dirt blocks? or is this the amout over all the time I have used the server?

the first one I mined all of my dirt and fell in the void so I reset, after this I mined all of my dirt and put it in an ender chest so I couldn't lose it if something happened, then after a couple days I came online and I reset my island and mined the dirt and put it in a plain chest and I build on someone elses island and then I reset later and invited someone to my coop, and then I was helping a lot of new players to remove their own dirt and get started with their island, I forgot that the dirt was in my inventory and when I was to return it the island of the oly one whos username I remembered was locked, and I put the dirt in my chest in case I see them online to return it then I went to use an ender chest and found a lot of dirt wass still in it that did not delete along with my previous islands and put it in my chests. today I was going to make a place to store all of my extra items until I need it and I put all the dirt I could find on my island into a double chest

 

By 'gap', I am referring to the fact that you had broken nearly 800 blocks of dirt on your island, while only creating around 350. This is the total number of blocks destroyed, on your island, not an overall player statistic. If I am understanding your story correctly, you are telling me that this was due to the fact that you had restarted your island multiple times throughout the past few months, and collected the dirt each time you restarted.

If I am to accept this appeal, I would like you to understand that restarting your island, and taking large amounts of dirt from previous islands is not allowed. The same goes for taking illegal items from the islands of other players, even if you have their permission. These items are under no circumstances legal to trade or give away.

I would also like you to restate all of the rules, located here, in your own words to ensure that you are familiar with the current set of rules that you must abide by while playing on this server. I will then shorten your ban to 24 hours. The illegal items have already been confiscated, and will be dealt with.

 

so I cant trade buckets, sand, grass,
and I cant accept these items for free when offered or mine them from other islands
I am not allowed to make new islands and keep items or materials from the old island
and I cant let other users put these things into a chest to store in my island

I knew some of these rules before but I have rarely used this forum and never read the rules page, I only know the rules that other players told me
and some the server puts through the chat
