Hey guys, Just a heads up here. I'm heading into college in less than a year, and I won't have enough hours to feed into the Skyblock grind machine in order to have any noticeable impact on the in-game community or economy. These two things are actually my entire reason for being on Skyblock. I lost interest in the Skyblock concept many months ago. What kept me here was my fascination with the in-game economy and the vibrant community. During my time here, I've met some of the saltiest gamers in existence, as well as some of the sweetest people on the entire Internet. It's this perfect mixture of sweet and salty that creates the unique Skyblock.net flavor I've learned to love since starting here in 2013. Because I won't be able to participate much in either the economy or the community, I think it's best for me to repurpose my time to work on my future. As of now, I drop in about once a week to vote, collect kits, and have short chats with whoever I know that's online. I'll either continue this for the next 8 months and come back in full force or quit altogether. On a related note, I wrote a short paper on Skyblock's economy a while back (link can be found below). Part of that paper analyzed the effects of players quitting and leaving their hard-earned grass, diamonds, and rares to be automatically cleared with their islands. Because I don't want to be a hypocrite, I'm going to be giving away my stuff to people if I do decide to quit. Please message me with your IGN on discord @ Soviet Reunion#7277 if you know me and are in need of funding for projects. Anyway, I'll probably post a few more things between now and next August so feel free to hit me up on Discord or if you see me in game! Economic Analysis .Net - Google Docs Oh my god, eating coffee grinds with a spoon is absolutely disgusting but also strangely satisfying with enough whipped cream. Thanks Starbucks for making K-Cups
I agree with Monster here, keep your things, recently creeping death left (which honestly sucks, his island was awesome) and he kept his things, you never know if you will ever come back, and to just leave is ok, everyone needs a break, too much of one thing will cause burnout, though if you decide to get up and quit skyblock altogether you should support those who have supported you, it keeps those who are here to make the server better for everyone stay a while longer, that little bit of joy can go a long way. Besides, in 8 months the economy will be quite different, so maybe that's a reason to come back? Either way, its sad that your leaving/ fading out for a while, never met you in game but it's never fun to lose a payer. This post is rambly because I suck at writing things like this, sorry
It’s always sad to see a player leave, but unfortunately cannot be stopped because life moves on. I’d love to see you and chat with you in-game that once a week. That was also certainly a very weird conclusion at the end, but all I have to say is Pret is 10 times better than Starbucks.
Aw, I'll be sad to see you leave. Never less, I won't stop you, because life is more important than Minecraft. I would suggest keeping your things because you may never know. You might come back and play again.
I wish you the best of luck with your college applications! I'm glad that I got to know you, and hope we can continue our occasional conversations whenever you decide to log on for a few minutes.
Good luck and have fun when you go to college. No wonder you became inactive but still College's more important than but hopefully I'll see you soon again since you won't be entirely gone.
I feel you on this as I too have college coming up sooner or later, but regardless you should keep your things. But other than that good luck.
