Negative ratings and the trigger happiness that comes with them

Negative ratings: These are used to say that you thing something is dumb, rude, or you don't really like it.

I have amassed 114 of these at the time of me posting this thread and don't particularly care how many I get anymore (this is NOT an invitation for you to give me a negative rating).

Now lets get to the points of me making this thread; people being a little too trigger happy with these. Say you post something rude in an agitated state and come on the next morning to find you have six rude ratings on that particular post. This is what I mean by people being too trigger happy.

I have a very simple solution to this. Basically, if you are given one or two negative ratings on a post, you are most likely going to get the message that people aren't a big fan of it. All other negative ratings at this point just add insult to injury and are not needed whatsoever.

So, when you see a not very good post that already has one or two negative ratings on it, don't give it another negative.

 

I've removed Dumb rating and made all rude ratings Neutral apart from dislike.

I've seen way to many people abuse the rating system, everytime I log on forums I see people rating my sticky threads "Dumb" when it's just a template ...
