Mr_Gallifrey’s Staff Application. Hey. My name is Gal, Short for my IGN; Mr_Gallifrey. I have been playing Skyblock for about 4 years now. I have seen a lot of people come and go, but those who mean a lot to me, I still see today. But there are always new players joining, and I constantly find new players I can consider “friend”. I treasure this server and the community within it. I enjoy everyone’s company and values, and it makes me happy to see them happy. I find myself constantly helping these people, as well as people I barely know, to make them feel good, as well as keep the community positive. However, there are many things I would love to be able to do to help more. As moderator, I would be able to help players locate missing items, mute offensive and rude people, as well as influence and inspire new players of the server. I want to apply for the position of moderator because I’d like to protect, help, defend, influence, and respect these players. I know taking on this position is a lot of responsibility, and work. But I’m willing to accept that because I want to help this community and truly make a positive change within. Your in-game name: Mr_Gallifrey. What time zone are you in? I am in Eastern Standard time. What country do you live in? United states of America. What languages do you speak? I speak English fluently (Primary language) and some Spanish. (Secondary language) Do you have 2FA enabled? I have enabled 2-factor authentication on forums (and discord) Do you have the necessary means of capturing evidence? (i.e. recording software, screenshots, etc.) Yes. I can capture evidence through OBS studio, as well as default recording software, and I can take screenshots within Minecraft, using snipping tool, windows print screen as well as many other methods available online. Why do you think you should become a mod? I know I should be mod because I believe I can help, influence and protect not only my friends, but Skyblock and the entire community, within forums, discord, and in game. I believe I have the traits to make a strong, independent influence on the server. I am…Confident. I am confident, as when I care about my work, I stand by it. I make the choices I make, and I should be able to justify them, not based off just fact and evidence, but as well as emotionally and logically. I am… Logical. I am extremely logical and approach problems with lots of ideas and workarounds, as well as intelligent solutions to difficult problems. I will make just decisions because my mind is able to make smart responses within limited circumstances. If I need to work out a difficult position, such as a complex griefing, I can plan ahead and be prepared with a smart choice. I am… Independent. If someone needs me to do something, I can do it. I am an extremely fast learner, and if something stands in my way, I can usually defeat it no problem. I am self-taught with all my coding, computer, and piano skills. I am… Mature. Regardless of how I act in my free time, I can be extremely mature when needed. I can and will treat a situation as heavy as it needs to be, as well as without question. Due to maturity, this makes situations easier to handle, and ensures I will more responsible while doing so. I am… Charismatic. Being charismatic allows me to make good first impressions, ease people of stress, and earn respect easier. Being charismatic also means I generally work well with others. Because of my charisma, I can become more approachable, which allows players to be comfortable with coming to me with issues and concerns. I am… Honest and I uphold the rules. For playing Skyblock as long as I have, I have learned to become quite familiar and fond of the rules. They keep order and peace to the server. In the longest time I have been in Skyblock, I have not ever been banned. Due to my respect of these rules, I am extremely honest. If I do something wrong, I will not be afraid to notify another staff. I will do the right thing if it comes down to it, regardless of personal conflict. I am… Sympathetic. Many people undergo bad circumstances, within real life or Skyblock, and I can understand that. I am extremely forgiving, understanding and aware of people’s emotions and how to handle them. (If someone’s having trouble at home or obviously regrets their mistakes, I will be aware of how they feel and how to act. I have been in lots of situations where I have had to sympathize with a person to understand where they come from, as well as why they did it. It allowed me to help friends and others continue positively knowing that I had made an impact.) I am understanding and forgiving. I know mistakes happen. I will show mercy to people who need it, and whoever needs the said forgiveness. I have used forgiveness many times to people who have needed it, such as new players who didn’t know right from wrong, as well as friends who have made bad decisions. Forgiveness is an essential quality that keeps peace, and positivity in the community. I am familiar with the current staff team. Playing Skyblock for a long time has allowed me to learn the staff and how they work. Knowing the staff, as well as getting along with all of them means that everyone within the team will be comfortable, respected, efficient and will keep excellent communication. I am… Respectful or opinions and arguments. I respect everyone’s opinions and ideas, regardless of wrong or right. I will always see both sides of an argument or problem before making any decision. Everyone’s opinion’s DO matter. How long can you be active on the server every day? I can be on during weekdays around 7AM-10PM, due to my lifestyle, it allows me to be near my computer for most of each day for any emergencies. How long have you been playing Skyblock? Almost 4 years, almost 3 in classic, and about 10 months within the new Skyblock. Have you ever been banned in the past? (Forums & In-game) No. I have never been banned. Do you have any experience as a moderator? I believe I have all the traits needed, but I lack the experience as a moderator. I have been babysitting my sisters for years, and doing this has taught me not only patience, tolerance, and how to deal with younger people, but teamwork with my parents as well as my older siblings. Such as telling them what is wrong, so they can learn and develop. I would rather they understand why it’s wrong rather than simply punish them. I have learned that treating each sister equally, keeps everything fair and peaceful. Being logical, I have had to help them with chores, so using intelligence and creativity, I can easily work around the problem and get what was needed done. We got chores done fast, we had a system and for most of the time, my ability to keep things in check worked, and everyone was happy with that. I believe that the qualities I’ve used and have demonstrated, are extremely applicable with becoming a mod. It has taught me patience, tolerance, logic, teamwork, fairness, creativity, and kindness. Do you meet the requirements for staff? Yes, I do.
