Michael's Moderator Application

A little bit about me: I am 13 years old, and in 9th grade. My family has 2 dogs and 3 cats. I enjoy math, archery, chess, puzzles of any kind, and video games. I live in New Mexico, USA, but my father is from Russia, and I sometimes go there to visit my family. I speak English as my first language, and I also speak Russian, however I am not the best at it. I would consider myself fluent enough to hold a conversation with someone, but only over actual voice communication.

Why do you think you should become a mod?
I enjoy helping people with almost anything that I am able to help them with, and I feel like being a mod would allow me to help people much more. I also think I should be a mod for the following reasons:

Helpful
I enjoy overall just helping people on this server. There are a variety of things that I have helped with in the past, anywhere from building a cobblestone generator, to assisting them with their island, and sometimes contacting moderators to help them figure out issues such as being scammed.

Courteous
Being courteous is an important quality to have in life. You should be courteous and polite to everyone, no matter how much you hate them.

Unbiased
Being unbiased is VERY important in every day life. It is important not to make decisions based on your relationship with a person. You also shouldn't discriminate against people and give them harsher punishments for just being different than you. For example, you shouldn't give someone twice the ban length for doing something illegal, just because you have a personal issue with them. It is important to treat everybody fairly.

Positive Attitude
I know that getting mad at someone and hating them because they did something wrong is not the right thing to do. Hating them is not going to accomplish anything, but it is also important to give them the proper punishment.

I am quite responsive
Whenever I am doing anything on the forums and am also in-game, my computer lets me split the windows in half so that I can see both windows at once. This is very useful, because if someone sends me a message and I and doing something on the forums, I can see their message and respond to them. This can have a big impact, because if someone desperately needs a moderator, and I am the only one online, who knows how big of an impact it could have if they can't reach me. Almost all of the time, the only times I am AFK, is when my mom tells me to do something such as take out the trash, and in that case I am usually back online within 2 minutes. I also always keep my minecraft sounds on, so that I can hear when someone sends me a message.

Knowledgeable about the server
I have played on this server since 2013, and have seen it go through many changes. I would consider myself knowledgeable about the rules, and information about the server in general. It is important to be familiar with the rules, because it is important to be able to inform people about what is and isn't illegal, or if you see someone intentionally doing something illegal, the more familiar you are with the rules, the less time you have to take to make sure that you are rightfully punishing them.

Organized
In life in general, I like to be organized. Organization is a very important thing in a lot of scenarios. Being organized can help in many ways. Organization can allow you to find things easier, work faster, and be overall more productive.

Patient
I am very patient throughout many situations. This is a good quality, because there are many situations where having patience can make a huge impact. It is important to be patient when you are talking with people, because especially when dealing with a scandal, it is important to hear both sides of the story, and aren't too hasty about your decision.



How long can you be active on the server everyday?
Mondays to Fridays during school, I can probably play anywhere between one and three hours. On weekends or days that school is out, if I don't have any other activities to do, I am usually free for a lot of the day. These times are just estimates of when I will be online, for example, on Monday-Friday, I will most likely not be on before 6:30pm, or after 8:00pm. I will usually be able to play at least an hour per day, and definitely more on weekends.

Wednesday: 3:30pm - 5:00pm
Thursday: 6:30pm - 8:00pm
Friday: 7:00pm - 9:00pm
Saturday: 10:00am - 3:00pm

How long have you been playing Skyblock?
I do not remember the exact date that I started playing skyblock, but I was shown this server by a friend around the middle of 2013 I believe. I played quite a bit, then I took quite a break from skyblock for probably about a 6 or 7 months, then I started playing again and I have been playing almost everyday ever since.

Have you ever been banned in the past? (Forums & In-game)
I have never been banned in the forums, and never in-game, except for when the console banned me because of the glitch where it bans you for flying if you forget to turn /fly on.

Do you have any past experience as a moderator?
No I do not. The closest thing to a moderator I have ever experienced was being in charge of either group projects in school, or a bunch of little kids at church. During group projects, I was usually the one that managed the schedule and methods to accomplish certain parts of the project, and at my church, my job was just to keep them entertained and make sure they weren't being too loud and bothering other people.

I am neutral at the moment. You seem like a nice guy, however I need to get to know you better. I see no reasons not to support, yet I don't personally see any outstanding reasons as to support. Dude, why did you say that? I don't know why you find it so necessary to pick on me for everything I say. What I said is a fact, I am neutral at the moment, it's my opinion not yours. I really feel like that was a rude comment, I hope you aren't always like this.

 

Considering things, I now say support. You seem to be a nice person. Being as young as you are means that you are more likely to be passionate about the server. Support

 

I remember meeting you in-game, and I've enjoyed all the times we've briefly spoken. You strike me as an honest person with good intentions. I've seen you help other players, and I think you deserve a chance to moderate here.

 

I've barely seen you in game I'm in a similar time zone so it's a well written Mod app but it takes more than being a mini mod to get my support so I say no support

 

I try to be as active as I can, but I do admit that I have been a little inactive lately because school was really busy, but now I am starting to become more active because I have less classes this semester, and my teachers have finally gotten out of their "there is no time left therefore we must pile on as much homework as possible to get everything done" phase
