Yes, for looting/bridging/griefing. I'm not going to ramble on about how I was a complete idiot, the past is the past and I regret what I did.

Why do you think you should be a mod?
I believe I should be mod because I am enthusiastic and interested in doing the job.​

Mature : I will help resolve a problem in a well mannered and well behaved way. This means listening to others and settling a conflict in a calm way.

Friendly/Approachable : I am more than happy to chat to people without being completely awkward. Many people come to me to talk about things that are troubling them and end up smiling at the end of the conversation.

Patient : As they say, patience is key. Some problems take a while to be completely resolved meaning they involve waiting. And I am more than happy to wait.

Fair : I am fair when dealing out punishments. If one player dirt trades, and another dirt trades, I will make sure they both get the same punishment. If one of my friends break the rules, I will not go easy on them just because they're my friends.​

Available : I am not so active outside technology, so I will most likely always be online, whether on Skyblock itself or the forums, so expect to see me on often!

Responsive : I am always looking out in chat, so I will respond to everyone who needs assistance.

Motivated : I am always wanting to get back on the server and play some more. I love seeing all the players and helping those in need.

Role model : I believe I am a role model as I am active and fair aswell as reflective and resilient.

Open minded/accepting : I accept everyone. Whether they're a different religion, gender, race, sexuality or nationality, I give them all the same treatment. We're all humans, therefore we're all equal.

What I will bring to the server : I will make sure Skyblock has a happier community. When someone breaks a rule, I will be sure to let them know and could be patient enough to explain why that rule is in place. I'll look out for those who are upset, and give up my time to make them feel better. If someone has a question, I will answer it in detail and clearly.

How long can you be active on the server every day?​

SCHOOL WEEKS
Monday : 2-4 hours (4 P.M - 8 P.M)
Tuesday : 2-4 hours (4 P.M - 8 P.M)
Wednesday : 2-4 hours (4 P.M - 8 P.M)
Thursday : 2-5 hours (3:30 P.M - 8 : 30P.M)
Friday : 2-6 hours (4 P.M - 10 P.M)

WEEKENDS
Saturday : 2-8 hours (8 A.M -- 4 P.M)
Sunday : 2-3 hours (8 A.M - 11 A.M)

HOLIDAYS
Monday - Friday : 2-6 hours (as I might be busy getting fresh air) (8 A.M - 2 P.m)
Saturday - Sunday : 2-4 hours (family get the days off work) (8 A.M - 12 P.M)

Bare in mind none of these hours will be in a row.​

Since I've had alot of experience, I have dealt with multiple situations. From a simple case of bullying to finding who griefed the server, I've dealt with most of it.

This has been a crazy morning. Let's calm it down with some light reading in the Application section.

+1 immediately for an excellent start to an application. Most of these threads begin with tween-based fanfic, it's nice to have a link for extra reading without forcing the backstory in.

Nice to meet you, sir. Your name sounds like something I would order at an ice cream shop.

Which GMT? Or are you on the prime meridian, so you're at GMT+0?

I've noticed an interesting trend here: Americans assume everyone in the world understands that "Mountain" is a time zone. Australians use "AEDT" a lot and people in England like to throw "GMT" without giving an offset. This is probably a cultural thing; everyone instinctively writes as if someone from their own country is reading the application.

I would like to order a "very basic Dutch", please. Bonus points for knowing a bit of several languages, I'm just interested in what very basic means. If you're just pointing at things and grunting then I can proudly say I know every language in the world at a "very basic" level.

So you were a murderous, griefing, looting, bridging(?) berserker idiot. But then changed your name. I'm fairly sure the answer to "Have you ever been banned" is a solid yes, sir. Adding a little technicality on the front sounds a bit like you're trying to weasel out of some past atrocities. Just go with a simple "Yes, for griefing/looting/bridging". Or not-- Entirely up to you.

Can someone explain what "bridging" is...? Are you just not allowed to bridge to another island? Why?

I am more excited than a health inspector in a public restroom. This is usually the best part of any application. Proceed!

You are enthusiastic about... taking on a role? You didn't actually say you were interested in doing the job, you're just looking forward to having the title. That's rather surprising, did you mean to state it that way sir?

Slight recommendation: Your last sentence (joke around... serious) is misplaced and doesn't add anything to your topic of "handling things in a calm way". This is like if we were discussing cooking recipes and you mentioned your famous apple pie that every loved and sometimes you chop bananas also. Sounds a little odd?

You Are A Moderation Machine, Matthew. That is a lot of trusted positions! Minecraft is about six years old so you've had a new admin position just about every... seven months? That's a lot of jumping ship, Mr. Crowley.

Or were some of these on the same server? For example were you Helper, then Mod, then Admin on a single server, then left to become Mod/Admin on another?

I've Lost 3 Pounds Just This Week!​

ARGH. Do not list a qualification and disqualify yourself at the same time. "I will never tell a lie / Even though I tell lies" made me facepalm so hard I lost some childhood memories. We all understand there is a line between a harmless fabrication and breathtakingly murderous lie.

Recommend removing this entire qualification, sir. "Honesty" is one of those weird things that the more you talk about it the less everyone believes you. We already assumed you were not a liar, why bring it up?

Because problems go away if you type at them fast enough! Most Moderating can be done in three to five word responses so typing speed isn't really a "do or die" quality for administration. This doesn't hurt your application but it doesn't add much, either.

Everyone and their arthritic pet whippet proudly lists "typing speed" as an amazing thing they can do. Why not swap this for something original? Try something like "Extrovert: I enjoy starting conversations with players and making them feel welcome. I type quickly, so multiple chat sessions are pretty easy for me". Or not, my opinions are pretty lousy.

Slow down there, Daredevil. The word you were looking for is "Unbiased", but you are using it incorrectly. When you are talking about fairness, punishment and judging others then the correct word is "Impartial". People in positions of authority are impartial about enforcing rules.

Nice trait, +1. Not entirely sure this is going to tip the scales and get you a Mod position but everyone definitely likes an approachable authority figure.

Remove this garbagespeech. Not entirely sure what you were trying to say with this and it comes off like you're borderline bragging about never needing others. It's a group of Moderators and you are joining the team. Listing your solo qualifications is baffling. Reword for clarity or change your intent or ignore me my opinion is valueless.

Your online hours look fine, but for the love of little ducks please list when you can expect to be on. When do you play? 2am? 11pm? Are you volunteering for a six hour shift starting at midnight...?

It's not the template's fault you duplicated responses, sir. Just cut your previous "Experienced" qualification (above) and move it down here where it belongs.

Quite welcome, sir. I thoroughly enjoyed that, one of the better applications I've read in a while.

Generally I don't look up someone until after the review is finished because I honestly do not care what the community thinks of you. I don't have a history with anyone so I can't be accused of targeting or playing favo(u)rites--I'm only replying to what the person wrote on the application.

However this app was interesting enough that I clicked over to your member profile just to follow up. There wasn't a whole lot of noteworthy things, but I did spot this:


If you're thinking about quitting you may want to reconsider an application for Moderator, sir.

~ I do not see how colour shows "immaturity". The colours I have selected are easy to read.

My ban was over a year ago, so the rules and plugins have changed. There was no "protection" on your island, therefore people often bridged out to others islands and raided their gear.
