It's not really a "lol" matter.
But yes, most people out of the UK may not know about it. I only know due to tumblr.

 

I said lol because of the fact I didn't know about a major event in my lifetime. I don't find death funny

Meanwhile, hundreds of thousands of people are forgotten about in the Middle East...

 

I remember hearing a story of someone who tried to get on a bus. The bus was full and she couldn't get on. When she walked away, the bus exploded, I believe but I'm not completely sure that she later represented the Team GB in the 2012 Paralympics
