I just thought of this really deep question today.

Could something be related to you by it not being related to you at all?

    For example,
"That chair relates to my life, because it doesn't relate to me at all."

    Think about it...

You bring up a super good question actually and it really got me thinking.
The first thing that I thought about was let's say you were walking down the street and you see a man robbing a child and you just walk past as if nothing happened. Do you think the victim's life is impacted by your lack of impact?
The next thing that I thought about was the question of "do you think your life would have been different if you never ________" like would my life be different if I never tasted a pizza before?

But then thinking of that made me come to the conclusion that influence if not given by one force will then be given by another. Today you struggle with money and you think that if only money was abundant then life would be good but you get money and you get a whole new set of problems. I think that is called an "if, else" statement. If this happens do this or else this will happen. Because life follows a linear path along time on this planet everything is governed by if or else because it follows the idea of continual motion.
So probably if you never tasted a pizza then you probably would have eaten something else in its place. Or if you choose not to do this then you will always end up doing something else.
I don't believe that just cause you aren't there or there to influence doesn't mean that whatever takes your place is better or worse. We exert force and influence to whatever we can manage, and where we conscious point that energy, you know?
This reminds me of one thing that always made me wonder regarding light and distance, which is that I wonder if light continues to travel at the same strength of its source or if it is weakened with distance. I assume it weakens but if that is the case I wonder how strong a star must be at its source for it to be able to be seen all the way from earth. And I think that concept applies to influence from one person to another. Our feeling of care (for example the care of a parent to their child) must be extremely strong but the child will never feel it to the degree at which the parent feels it. Meaning as children get older and there is more and more emotional and physical distance that separates child and parent the light, degree of influence, etc becomes more and more like the stars in the sky.

I recently watched the movie Interstellar (really good movie btw), and I've just been pondering about a lot of this stuff lately. Interesting of you to bring this question up, because that movie touched up on the 5th dimension and stuff like that, and it's really complicated and it hurts my brain a bit but I still think about it. About how maybe that's why when we are physically close and emotionally close to someone we describe it as a warm feeling. Tiny children are close to their parents and it's a whole different realm that we can't quite grasp or fully understand.

TL;DR - Yes I think our lack of influence still governs overall influence because something will always take its place. But only ironically. Logically it makes no sense so the statement is meant to be humerous or make a point. But then again, idek because this is all just theoretical....or is it?

These are just random thoughts off the top of my head and my fingers are getting sore from typing all of this, but I'm kind of relieved to get all of that off of my chest..

    My brain hurts.

Interests cause conflicts, that's why when you're out meeting friends you aim to go for those that have next to zero interests as you.
