How do I safely change my MC username?

    I plan on changing my username, however, I don't want to lose my inventory/island/etc. Is there any way I can do this as of now?

    Well you can do what I do- get an alt (or a friends XD) make them your coop leader make sure your not holding on to any items, remove any locks on your island, change your name, coop yourself back in and put the locks back.​

    Yeah basically for net make sure all your chest are unlocked, you have someone or an alt that can add you back to the coop.
    with nothing in ur inventory, and echest to be on the safe side, /coop leave.
    Change your name, then get invited back to the island and have the new leader /changeleader theirIGN urnewIGN

    If you are not the island owner, you should make sure to talk with them and tell them about the name changing process. If they are the leader and change their name, the coop will break and neither of you will be able to go home!
